A 11 x 11 foot cement cell, with cracked walls and dirt and grime smudges.  No functioning wifi or television and a bathtub of a pool; we left as soon as we could.  The staff acted is they were doing us a service as opposed to being hospitable.  My favorite moment was when the owner offered me a beer while I waited to check in, only to add it to my bill at check out.  This place is also too far from the center to walk with children, so one might as well stay somewhere else - this place has no advantages.

More Like Alcatraz, Than a Hotel

I stayed here with a friend during one weekend and we were somehow satisfied with our stay. The pousada is located a little bit far from the center of the city but during the day the city seems to be quite safe. Our room was located at first floor and was very clean, having fridge, TV and air conditioning. The big surprise we had was the lack of shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom so I was really dissapointed to see that basic things are missing. Wifi is free and the speed is average. Breakfast is ok, I have seen better at other pousadas in Brazil. The juice I did not like but the rest of the food was ok. During breakfast time the number of tables are not enough for the amount of people staying at The Pousada. 
Another thing I did not like was that the owners were always wih their eyes on the guests and if you wanted to leave the key at reception this was not possible.

Good stay but there are things to be improved!

We stayed just one night.  The rooms were very clean.  Wifi and tv was available, no problems.  The kids enjoyed the swimming pool.  The morning breakfast rivaled the breakfast buffet at our fancy hotel in Brasilia.  The owners were fantastic.  Despite our language challenges, they worked with us and helped us plan a visit to a local waterfall that we will always remember.  They were very kind and generous.  My only negative is that the beds were extra, extra firm but we would return, without question, because we enjoyed the owners so much.  The location worked fine for us.  We were a short ride in the car to everything we wanted to see.  We highly recommend.

Welcoming people

It's a simple, very clean place. Nice swimming pool, nice and friendly owners, good value. A bit far from 'rua do lazer' where most of the bars are located. Since the return to the hotel is a pretty steep street it makes it hard for people who had a few too many, what is often my case, to do it. I asked the owner why we should not consume our own products by the common area and she explained me was the only way she had to control excess of noise at late hours. Understandable.

Neat place

Visited Pirenopolis during a trip to Brasil to see friends. They had decided we should spend a weekend in Pirenopolis having heard good things about the city and knowing it was only a couple of hours drive from where they live. Having got there we needed to find a place to stay, because a music festival was happening the same weekend we initially struggled to find a place, however, the local tourist office gave some good advise and recommended the Pousada Tia Ilda only a couple of mins from the centre of town we were pleasantly surprised about how good the hotel was. It's reasonably small and cost 250 reais but the bed was good, free wifi, free breakfast, air conditioning, which was very welcome because of the heat and a nice pool. We only stayed the one night but the owners were very friendly and helpful, giving us help for where to visit and where to eat. All in all really helped make the weekend!
