We had a great stay at Villa Gracia. The villa turns 100 years old next year and has many authentic features of the time. The grounds are big and beautiful and the rooms are so spacious! They are also dog friendly (10 euros/night extra)— our Bernese Mountain Dog loved running in the back yard. There’s a nice pedestrian walking path right behind the property that follows the river and you can walk/run to Namur (6km away) or if you really want to, all the way to Dinant (18km away). There’s a Carrefour very close by (less than 3km away) and access to lots of restaurants. The Villa itself is in a quiet neighborhood but close to everything. There are a few reviews stating that the hotel is outdated and yes, it does not have modern decor but it keeps theme with its age. There’s also an old style lift so no worries about bags if you’re staying on an upper floor.

Beautiful 100 yr old villa that is dog friendly, great location 

Lovely setting, very quiet and out of town. The hotel has a large garden that has a gate to the river, which has an extensive walk....it doesn't have a restaurant, but there is a very good Chinese restaurant within a five minute walk. Other restaurants are available, but involve a short drive. The Hotel is a little dated, but is clean and very quaint! Didn't have breakfast, but the dining room had a lovely view of the garden, and would guess it was good.

CLEAN AND QUIET HOTEL

Wow, what a historical hotel.  A great building on the bank off the river.  We were in the area for fishing and this suited us very well.  Very friendly team running the hotel and a great breakfast.  The whole package and building has a history and it shows but not in any way that would undermine a stay.  No restaurant for an evening meal but enough options within walking distance.  All in all, we are happy to have stayed there.  Thanks

Great location...a bit faded but very friendly

This was a stop within easy reach of the ferry home to Newcastle. We had just done 1500 miles on our motorbikes to Italy and back visiting Wiesbaden, Villingen Schwinningen, Bergamo and Colmar and had just travelled through some pretty horrendous rain. The villa sits off the road and accessed by a steep downhill gravely drive -not what we needed at this point. It sits in its own large landscaped grounds and has smashing views of the river and beyond.  However, the welcome was good and the owners 11 yr old grandson  insisted on helping with our luggage which was great. The huge house is built over 5 floors all serviced by a lift. Rooms are on floors 1 and 2 with floor 5 being the owners and  the basement being. at one time and according to the buttons in the lift, the smoking area it seems. Although there was no sign of smokers anywhere the  slight smell of smoke was everywhere but it did not spoil our stay. Our rooms were huge, clean and very comfortable. We were at the back of the house and had a very peaceful night. Outside our window ran a wide ledge covered in tin acting as a rain gutter. The rain drummed on it a bit. but we were too tired to let it bother us.The bathroom was big with twin hand basins and the toiletries were good. We had the best towels of our trip so far. The breakfast was also the best, with plenty to eat both hot and cold and freshly made. There are three local restaurants within 5 -10 minutes walk. One was a Chinese food restaurant which we were advised strongly not to go to. Another, the furthest away, was a gourmet restaurant and was too pricey for us. The nearest was across the road and was excellent. It has a limited menu and wine was on the high side but it was perfect. We had a really nice time there with excellent food and lovely staff. Going anywhere else from the villa would need a car. There are no taxis in the village and calling a taxi from Namur was going to cost 50 euros. We passed through Namur on the way to Amsterdam and it looked very nice and interesting

Last Stop before the ferry home

the place got potential, but it's not four stars place. maybe in 90', but not anymore. the place really needed updating. 

the host lady is so nice and really helpfull. but maybe she could smoke outside..

four stars -REALLY?

This authentic old villa that has large rooms however it is definitely not 4 stars. The pricing for a stay is not at today's market pricing. Probably years ago this structure was correct,  but not these days. 
This however paints an unclear picture of the hospitality the staff extend. The welcome on arrival  was warm, but we were left to our own divices as no food is available  in the evenings. We would also of benefited from an explaition of the services on offer. As an example we had no idea ther was a hotel bar, for instance. 
Another point is that the main door is permanently locked so you have to phone to get someone to let you in, why not give guests a key?
Breakfast however was of a high standard, good choice, plenty of coffee. All taken overlooking the Meuse river. 
A stay here is like staying with your grandparents, all very cosy, but the house & gardens needs a refurbishment.
