B&B La Petite Suisse

We stayed for only one night at La Petite Suisse, whilst attending the Belgium F1 Grand Prix at Spa Francorchamps. Being out in the sticks above Malmedy, it took a little finding, but was well worth the effort. Basically, it is a converted Belgique farm, comprising Git accommodation and a number of BnB rooms. Our room was a standard double, sharing a bathroom with at least one other room. The bed was a comfortable, wrought iron four poster, and the walls were clad with rough sawn planking - very rustic. Fantastic views over farmland, with a herd of deer grassing in the adjacent field. Bathroom was unusual in that it had a double shower, and a very nice double glass sink. Towels, soaps, slippers and dressing gowns were also provided. The most outstanding feature of Le Petite Suisse, were the the owners, Philippe and Linda Gabriel, the perfect hosts. Language barriers were soon overcome with a mixture of pigeon French, German and English (and Google Translation App). A very welcome beer (or 2) was provided when we arrived, and although we were not going to have an evening meal, we were very pleased that we changed our minds - beef steaks and venison were melt in the mouth delicious. Breakfast was also a treat, with the usual continental, supplemented with scrambled eggs and fried potatoes. We were able to leave our luggage whilst we went to the Sunday F1 race, and when we returned in torrential rain (on our motorbike), Linda offered that we stayed another night free of charge! We had to decline, as a hotel was awaiting us in Brussels. If we ever return to the Malmedy area, we would have no hesitation at staying at this establishment, and would highly recommend it to any fellow traveller
