What a lovely place, run by such an exceptionally warm host. There is certainly lots of heart evident in this place,  in terms of design details, range of books and guides on offer and the spotlessly clean furnishings. On top of this, the place is in a great location, just neatly tucked away from the bustle but within easy walking distance, and provides an impressive breakfast. I walked into the dining area and just went 'wow', as it was such an unexpected treat. Jan is a great host, warm, responsive and incredibly knowledgeable on the city. Highly recommended. A lot of heart for not a lot of money.

Lots of heart evident here at such a great price

This is a true gem in the city of Brussels. The location is in the north of the city center and close to nearly everything in the city center on foot. The room is very spacious and even luxurious relative to its price category. The host Jan is very friendly and helpful. You can always count on him for a good advice. Everything is so clean and tidy. It is more of a studio apartment than a hostel room with its own kitchenette and bathroom.

Great Stay in the Heart

Over the past 7 years I have been staying at the Heart of Brussels. The location is very central (a short walk from Gare du Nord) and is in a good, safe and quiet area, although it may seem a tad on the dodgy side if you have never been there before - but this is Brussels and it is quite harmless) !  The price-performance ratio is unbeatable.

It is a spotlessly clean and stylish little bed and breakfast with fast wifi. The rooms are tastefully decorated in a modern, colourful style. Breakfast is delicious and consists of fresh croissants, pastries and bread. There is a selection of fresh fruit, juices, coffee and co., yoghurt, cereal and many Belgian breakfast spreads :-) 

Jan is friendly and attentive. He will give you a good map and many tips on the well-hidden attractions of the city. He kindly took us on a Saturday morning walk of the neighbourhood! Thanks, Jan! You are a super ambassador of Brussels.

Brussels's Best Kept Secret!

Staying there 2 nights with friends. The rooms were great with its own creative decoration. Location good enough as metro is very near and shopping street of Brussels is within 5-10min walk. Breakfast was great enough to surprise all of us. The best thing is the owner is very friendly and always will help us with our questions. He even helped to post out my friend's jacket to Amsterdam.Highly recommended and for sure will stay again if visit Belgium again!!

Wonderful experince in Belgium!!

He have recently returned from one week spent in Belgium that started out with 4 nights in Ian's B&B - it was lovely. A very chic and cozy place, very close to the city center! The breakfast was always a pleasurable encounter with our host, on top of a tasty and enjoyable experience. We have enjoyed and took advantage of all Ian's local tips and all proved to be exactly in line with what we were looking for. The room we stayed in was nice and cozy, very nicely decorated. We found lots of useful books about Brussels and Belgium in the room -  that we used to get even more (although not required, as Ian offered us everything we needed) local insights about Belgium. We would go back there anytime and it is place we recommend for a wonderful Belgian experience. Alexandra & Radu
