I booked Alice&Anais based on reviews from other trip advisors.  We weren't disappointed.  

This is a lovingly restored 17th Century house which is their family home.  They have two huge rooms that they rent out for B&B during the weekend.  We were greeted by Nele and she showed us the map of Bruge, where we were located and she gave advice on places to visit and eat.

Breakfast is in the main family dining area, so you sit with your fellow guests and your hosts are very much part of the occasion which is lovely.  They are genuinely concerned that you're having a nice time and are very willing to offer advice when needed.

It is a good quality continental breakfast.  Yoghurt with blueberries. Freshly baked goods from the local bakery including croissants which were huge!  Selection of jams.  Cheese & Ham.  Freshly cooked eggs anyway you like them.  Plenty of tea, coffee, orange juice.  

The bed is soooooo comfortable and huge.  The shower is lovely and plenty of hot water.  There is no TV, so if that is important to you, not the place for you.

Location is perfect.  About a 10 minute walk to everywhere, but in a nice quiet residental area.

They own a chocolate shop in town which we went to and spent a fortune!!!  Hard not to!

What do I think could make it any better?........

Glasses for water in the room.

I think as they own a chocolate shop, it would be nice to have a couple of samples in the room with maybe a 10% discount card which would entice you to go to their shop rather than one of the 100's of others.

Other than that, a truly lovely place to stay and we will certainly be back! Both Koen and Nele are fabulous hosts.



Lovely comfortable stay

This did not meet our expectations from reading previous reviews. The room was large and tastefully decorated with a well fitted ensuite however we felt we were staying with the family rather than as guests. We could often hear noise from the owners' children and the absence of a TV made this more apparent, we prefer a bit more privacy. Obviously others are OK with this but we wouldn't have booked this type of B&B if we had known.

Breakfast was OK - the home made conserves were good - but rather minimal servings, a very small orange juice, a small portion of scrambled eggs and uninspiring cold cuts.

The location was good, between the Main Square and Minniewater but we felt the price we paid was not as good value  compared to previous properties we have stayed in.

Disappointing having read pevious reviews.

This B&B has lovely big rooms, a good location convenient for both the main station and the centre of town, a nice breakfast, welcoming and friendly hosts. It was a very good choice for our stay in Bruges.

ALICE AND ANAIS B&B

Huge, huge rooms, large shower, lovely breakfast in family room.  Could suit couples or family with con-joined rooms.  Highly recommend as hotel style accomodation without the  €’s

Don’t have mosquito window opened because of all this water surrounding houses (our friends discovered) 

Lovely hosts at this close to centre quiet road

A lovely B&B that only has two rooms. Room was great - high ceilings, plenty of space and a comfy bed. Modern bathroom with excellent shower. The hosts - Koen and Nele were lovely. They were very friendly and gave us a very comprehensive list of suggestions for things to do and places to go in Bruges. Breakfast was great and nice to chat with hosts and other guests over breakfast. Location very good, about five minutes walk to the main centre, fifteen through a nice park to the train station.  Definitely recommended.

Lovely hosts

This B&B is in a great location to visit Bruges and the family running this B&B are most welcoming and friendly. When we arrived Anais was most welcoming and took all our luggage to our rooms. He also gave us directions to the car park which was quite near and great value @ €8 a day 24 hour also gave us great information on the city and the restaurants. The rooms were very spacious with tea & coffee making facility and great en-suite bathroom.The Breakfast was excellent with a great variety of food and jams. I must say our hosts were most friendly and welcoming including the children. Strongly Recommended

Family Visit to Bruges

Just returned from a lovely 3 night stay at Alice & Anais which is everything that you would want from a B&B from the comfort of the room to the breakfast food, arriving at Bruges station it was a 10 minute walk away and we were met by our friendly host Nele, our room was massive with large double bed, massive windows, nice period furniture and good tea making facilities, a nice large bathroom with an amazing power shower and lovely soft towels with toiletries. Breakfast, which is served on a nice big wooden table in an equally large room with lovely features was everything you need (without the fatty fry up !) including meats and cheeses, homemade jams, cereals, toast, yogurt and eggs cooked to your liking ! I cannot praise our hosts Nele & Koen enough, they made us feel like part of the family  making us feel really welcome and told us all we needed to know to enjoy our stay including helpful tips to the best bars, restaurants and places to visit. It was a perfectly placed little B&B situated a short stroll from the town square and all local attractions and museums. This is a family home and we shared it with our hosts and their children it was a true home from home where we shall be returning soon.
We arrived as guests and left as friends.

Impressive..

Very welcoming hosts who went out of their way to make us welcome, providing guide books and local information, recommending restaurants etc.  Enormous room with comfortable bed and modern bathroom. Breakfasts were excellent - freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries, homemade jams, excellent coffee and much more for those who like a bigger breakfast. Location is particularly good for visitors coming to Bruges by car as there is local cheap parking available.  All old town in easy walking distance.  Strongly recommended.

Excellent - a perfect place to stay in Bruges

One  thing that I didn't like is that the owner was rude and not honest.I asked for a price through email and she told me 110 per night plus city tax.When I paid she denied to give me a receipt.At the beginning she tried to avoid it.When I pressed her ,she told me that she had already given me a better price than the booking.com ,that's why she didn't want to give me a receipt.That  was an agreement that we had not made  and the ridiculous  thing is that she demanded 8€ for  city tax .(what was the point since she did not give a receipt)
As far as the bedroom it was ok but too expensive.Also I could hear all the noises from the other rooms.For breakfast I was expecting more variety.

Avoid to give a receipt

This place couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating.  We stayed two nights here and found the location perfect for seeing Bruges.  Everything in the historic city is within easy walking distance no matter where you stay within the "moat".  This B&B however is on a street with car access.  We were able to park close and cheaply.  The free parking is a little further away but not far.  The 1700's era home is unimpressive from the exterior.  However the rooms with their 15 foot ceilings are spacious, well appointed, ultra clean, and quiet for sleeping.  The bathroom was very modern with all the amenities.  The young family owners are remodeling areas of the home including the breakfast room.  They have great plans and it hindered nothing.  The breakfast was great!  On our second day we had to leave town early and would miss breakfast.  Our wonderful couple made us a very nice picnic for the road to Paris.  They went above and beyond for us.  You will not make a wrong choice by staying here.
