Even though I paid for two days, I left the hotel a day earlier due to the dis-comfortable itchy sleepless night! The duvet was an ugly dirty blanket covered by two sheets like a sandwich! This an old dated hotel n need through cleaning especially the bathroom. Another common problem ‘too many mosquitoes’. Initially i booked the hotel through booking.com, the information was misleading on their website about the room & reviews!

This was a decent hotel with good friendly staff and great service.  Hotel was like a 3 Star of uk standard, had great selection of food for breakfast.  Ideally located in Ghulson 1 Area, not too far away from good Resturant’s etc.

Decent Hotel

Stayed here on two occasions on business trips.
Found the staff warm and friendly and the accommodation was of a good standard.
Safe, quiet location.
Nice décor and good food.
Would definitely return.

Good mid range hotel

The property is good, ideally located and in the heart of the city, people are very good, especially the chef - who shows keen interest in serving the food you want, Hey... the buck stops here... the maintenance is a BIG QUESTION... Wash rooms have stains... and there you feel that your money is NOT WORTH

Good people, Good property, but maintenance ?????

I have now stayed at the Hotel de Crystal Crown on three visits to Dhaka and can recommend it without hesitation. The staff are always friendly - especially the hotel manager and also the food and beverage manager who helped to make our stay enjoyable.

The rooms are spacious, mosquito-free and clean. The restaurant serves a good mix of Bangladeshi and Western food. The hotel also has an airport pick-up service which we have always used. The hotel is located in Gulshan-1 near the markets and central shopping areas. 

I believe the personal service and central location make the Hotel de Crystal Crown an ideal mid-priced lodging. I will return!


Wonderful hotel, friendly staff

I stayed here one night on my own and two nights as part of a tour group.  The room I had (301) was quite large, with a king-sized bed, three chairs, a desk, TV and a small refrigerator.  The room was well lighted and the air conditioning worked well, although noisy.  The bathroom was quite large with a tub/shower combination.  There was plenty of hot water.  The rooms had tile floors and were generally in good repair.  There was no view from the window except the building next door.  There was free wifi with a strong signal.  Took a short walk around the neighborhood but it’s pretty shabby.  You can walk a short distance over to Gulshan Road where there are a lot of small shops, street vendors, some quality and some dubious eating places and lots of heavy traffic.  The hotel is some distance from the airport but they will send a car to get you if you let them know in advance (charge 1000 BDT).  It’s also quite a way from sights of interest so is not very good for sightseeing unless you’re with a group, as I was.  A big advantage is that the hotel is away from the main street so it’s relatively quiet. The included breakfast was very good with a large variety of good food.
