Much recommended, professional staff with utmost respect for customers and proper treatment. Very impressed indeed! Perfect table service and fantastic quality! Best place to go for the pure Vietnamese experience! Don't head there if you are an expat and want fish and chips English style!? It's pure Vietnamese and don't expect anything else but the finest quality! The bookings speak a 000 words. Get in there or don't bother!

Brilliant! 

First of all, the pictures VS what we got in real life, so not the same... 2stars worth hotel, NOT 3! And whats up with the double name ? Hanoi Dolphin Hotel & A25hotel?!

1) Really not professionnal staff, we initially booked for 2nights then on the last night, even though we didnt like much the hotel, we were too lazy to pack our stuff again & de ided to stay one last night... we went to the reception to add another night, the guy at the counter at first, said that it was fine without even checking the computer for its availability so I asked him to check to be sure? He proceedeed to ask another girl to check which took 15mins... To finally say it was ok! The next morning, what happens? We received a call from the reception saying that we had to leave the room be ause they needed to clean it for the next clients!! We were staying in a superior so they suggested we move into a deluxe room at a higher price!!! We didnt feel to argue with them so we just packed our stuff and left to another better hotel!

2) the rooms are not well cleaned, especially the bathroom, we got half a toilet paper roll and they never replaced it, we had to use kleenex, no shower curtains, the water just went everywhere which was so slippery it was dangerous. The towels were stained with brown stuff...

3) the air conditioner stopped working after 10mins, the bed was hard, not easy to sleep on

4) having done a few hotels along the coast, the breakfast there was the worst we got.... No coffee availble so we asked for an orange juice... We got 1/3 of a glass each!

5) after 9pm, really noisy because of the bar next to it, music playing loud and guests partying and smoking everywhere in the hotel

6) when we paid the room, they ran out of paper for the credit card bill, so we had to go and check if the money was taken online so they wouldnt charge it twice and the girl had to run back and forth on the street asking other hotels for paper for the bill, we told them we didnt need the receipt but a guy which seemed to be the manager said rudely to us to stay, we ended up waiting for 25mins to have the receipt that we threw away on the way out.... Horrible experience, at the same price go elsewhere, you can have better, even at the Camellia just next to it!

So disappointing

The towels in the room were torn and ratty and the one I had was covered in brown and green stains.  On our second night (after an overnight stay in Halong bay) the hand towel was likewise worn and had holes in it.

If you ask for a non-smoking room you are told that it is up to you whether you wish to smoke or not (in effect, this makes all the rooms smoking rooms), so one of the rooms we had booked smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, to the point where it permeated the clothes in our luggage for days afterward.

The shower flooded the bathroom and despite having someone come and tell us to we had not turned a knob properly, continued to flood the bathroom despite turning the knob as far as we could turn it so we covered the floor with the extra towels we had requested that, when they arrived, turned out to be bathmats (by this time we were tired of calling reception so we just shared towels).

The aircon stopped working (or worked very weakly) on the last night we were there.

The worst of all is the noise from the bar downstairs that starts around 9.30 or 10pm and continues until midnight.  I understand from the hotel information that they are working on soundproofing their rooms but in the meantime it can be difficult to sleep on their very hard beds with that noise going on, especially in the lower floors.  

Its fairly cheap, so dont expect daily housekeeping either.  Our water was never replaced.

Having said all of that, the staff were very friendly and helpful and I think when the soundproofing has completed and if they replaced their towels and fixed the shower and AC situation it would be a really great place to stay for the price, as it is so well located within walking distance of lots of eateries, shops, the lake and a few other tourist spots (eg the prison and womens museum).

Great staff and location, but noisy at night

The hotel was fine. The location was a bit further from the lake area than others in its price range. I couldn't figure out why clean dry towels were on a shelf in the shower. Also, the bathroom floor got flooded while one took a shower. The only to put soap, shampoo and conditioned, while showering was on the floor. I thought that the breakfast was a bit disappointing. The staff was very accommodating
Almost forgot. At about 9:00, every night horrible music from a nearby bar was really annoying

I enjoyed at Hanoi Dolphin hotel. stayed here 4days with my boyfriend.
The room was comfortable. and clean and cool.  wifi was also good. delicious breakfast buffet. and can choose kind of menu. it was great. 
and in front of shin cafe. so do not need to any other tour. 
The staff was very accommodating and helpful. 
and i used free computer and print in the 1foor.
the special thing was last day we invited the lunch from hotel staff. so all staff and our couple enjoyed good meal. and took pics and talked alot.
i can remember this hotel everything was nice and cute staffs.
so next time i will stay this hotel again.
