The previous comments are not relevant because the staff and manager have changed - as of now, the manager Michael is very kind and helpful, was patient and informative with his service and gave the beat price offer for an open bus ticket (750K!!), Highly recommended for families.

Beware read the other reviews, nothing has changed. If anything it is older, the staff more pushy and insist on review before your even check out. Rooms nothing like descriptions, TV doesn’t work, wifi unworkable, they turn the power to your room off when you go out during the day so the refrigerator warms up, no tea or coffee provided, no breakfast. The worst hotel I have stayed in, in twelve years of living and travelling in Vietnam. How they get a high review on booking.com is beyond me.
DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.

BEWARE!!!

Please all be aware. This man "MICHAEL" will have no qualms about robbing you. He took £200 extra of my account extra,when i paid him for a trip to HALONG BAY and a two day stay at his hotel. He also charged me over the odds for a very below average service luckily for me,I noticed the extra money gone out of my account immediately after the transaction as i checked my account online, I went downstairs to reception, and demanded to know why those 200 pounds were taken for, he had no option but to return my money immediately and in cash. 
Please take care of your money, do not be fooled by his eagerness to help you.!!

Swindled of money

The manager of this hotel is a dishonest person. I was staying for 5 days plus a cruise in Ha Long Bay. The price was calculated according to what was written on his brochure. He told me the price then entered something else by the time I saw the amount it was too late then he refused to refund-me. He stole 400 dollars from me and my bank could not do anything about it. This person will steal from you at any chance he'll get. As the other reviews say avoid this hotel at all cost.

Horrible, Just plain horrible.

Taken to our origanal booked hotel to be met at the door by a man who said there was a problem with the water and he would take us to a sister hotel. By the time we realised it was a complete scam, we had paid for the room and booked an overpriced trip to Halong Bay.
The room was very noisy, not very clean and you could barely get into  the bathroom for the bath behind the door. It became obvious that they had no real facility to provide breakfast but the manager had said breakfast included. I think he got one of his staff to cobble together something and then we had to eat it in the very small lobby from a low coffee table.  
The hotel is some considerable distance from the centre. We tried walking along dirty dangerous streets to get to the lake and had to give up. The hotel is not conveniently situated for tourists.
After two nights we decided to cut our losses and leave. We had paid for five nights. Even then the manager followed us on his scooter and then he offered to pay for a taxi to another hotel. There was no way I  was going to let him know where we were going. 
It was altogether a bad experience. 
We found anothermuch nicer and more convenient hotel and enjoyed the rest of our stay

Complete scam

The people have a man called Michael sorting out trips and travelling around Vietnam. please do not let him sort anything out for you .he will rip you off by half the amount  you give him .is easy to sort out your self and a hell of a lot cheaper. Taxi's and hotels don't get paid for by this man so you after pay again. there is always a way and means to get around .go to a tour outlet who deal with trips and flights which you can do your self by Skyscanner. Don't stay here.

Crook

One of the guy's name is Tum. This is Vietnamese and chinese con artists running a brothel targeting tourists. They will pay cab drivers to take you there, pay off other hotels to have them tell you there is no room, and pay restaurants not to serve you. They are NOT part of any government. They are just a group of low level thugs working for a chinese owner. This is how they do business. If you want narcotics, they can get it and will offer it to you. You want prostitutes, they can get them and hey will be offered. DO NOT let your cab driver take you here. DO NOT give anyone your booking information. DO NOT let anyone help you. 

This place is dirty, and unclean. There is toilet paper and a comb on the night stand of every room. What does that tell you. I was forced to get 3 for one night as I had never been to Hanoi and got gotten. I've been there a few times now and know the game all too well. 

Do not let them get you. Don't stay here.
