Highly recommend as a base for exploring the lakes. Such a wonderful and hospitable stay. Comfy beds, lots of amenities and the breakfast is superb. It’s a close walk to Windermere station and bus stops, so you are well connected. 

Brilliant stay and Howard is lovely!!!!

We stayed in Millbeck House for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Howard was friendly and welcoming and had taken good precautions for the current situation. The room was clean and cosy. Each morning Howard would cook breakfast for us and had a good vegetarian option as well. The location was perfect, only a 5 minute walk from Windermere and 15/20minute walk from the lake. Would definitely recommend. Hope to be back some time in the future.

Perfect bnb

Howard was naturally warm and welcoming. Howard had covid 19 precautions in place which kept us all safe. The rooms are bright, airy and cheerful. When I walked into the rooms, I thought spot on I was glad I was there. There was a good choice of breakfast and plenty if you wanted it. It was all good quality food.  The guest house was well positioned 5-minute walk to Lake Windermere, shops and warm welcoming pub in the road. There was plenty of parking available.
Advice- book events early prior to attending holiday to avoid disappointment. Research what is going on in the Lakes. My family and I took part in off road driving with Kankku driving through forests, rivers, boulders it was something I wouldn’t usually do but it was great.
Grassed area near Windermere outdoor pursuit centre great for picnicking and swimming but make sure you have swimming shoes. There is parking nearby if early morning or a road running adjacent .

Managed to grab a couple of days here after having 3 holidays cancelled this year. Howard made us feel most welcome, we arrived slightly early just to let Howard know we about and he informed us that our room was ready already, which was great news.
He gave us covid instructions,told us where the sanitisers were and our room. We went up to the room, unpacked and went for a walk. The room was just what we wanted, a comfortable double bedroom and an ensuite. 
Because we were the only ones staying Howard said breakfast could be done a bit later,which was great to hear also.
All in all a lovely couple of days away and made even better knowing The Millbeck was awaiting us.

A lovely B&B

Excellent stay, brilliant host. The room was clean and tidy. Howard was very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast in the morning. Ample free parking on the street outside. Would definitely return for another stay.

Weekend break

Great guesthouse. Very clean.  COVID precautions taken. Howard is a very friendly host. You get your introduction and are free to come and go as you please. Parking is on the road outside, there are no restrictions and we found a spot every time. Good location for the bars and restaurants in Windermere. We also took a taxi to bowness and back and it was £3.90 each time or a walk of around 15 minutes. Veggie breakfast options also.

Great place

4 of us have just returned from a fabulous weekend stay at Millbeck House.  Our first visit and will definitely return.
Howard the owner is the perfect host and a lovely guy who cannot do enough to ensure his guests have everything they need for an enjoyable stay. 
A tasty breakfast is served and will keep you going for the rest of the day.  The rooms are very comfortable, serviced daily to a very high standard where cleanliness is second to none.
We have stayed at numerous B&B's in the Lakes and Millbeck is undoubtedly our favourite.
Can't wait to return.

Fabulous Visit 

Millbeck guesthouse is in a very good location ... 2 minute walk to Windermere and just 1.5 mile away from Bowness ... the hotel is very cosy and Howard is a brilliant host who makes you feel welcoming and cooks an amazing breakfast

Brilliant

Our stay at Millbeck was everything we could have asked for and more! The room we stayed in was both airy and cosy and everything was faultlessly clean.  Check in was simple and easy and Howard was exceptionally accommodating. the breakfast in the morning was just enough that you didn't feel over faced but also that you wouldn't be hungry throughout the day. Overall, a wonderful stay and we look forward to returning soon!

Ideal placement and perfect host

Just couldn't fault this Guest House, we will definitely be returning. Our daughter and son-in-law booked for the four of us to stay, so glad they did.  Howard is such a friendly host and made us very welcome, fabulous breakfast, we have a tray full of those lovely sausages in our freezer thanks to his recommendation! Our room was spotless, lovely comfy bed and nice bathroom. The location is ideal, we walked to and from Bowness and Windermere shops and restaurants are five minutes away.  Both nights we called in at the local pub, The Brookeside Inn for a nightcap, very friendly place. Can't wait to stay again.
