Upon checking in I was greeted by a very happy helpful chap who showed me to my room. In a terraced house just across the road, and showed me the tea and coffee facilities and mentioned that further supplies were available.

Sadly  that was the highlight of my stay.
The tile grout on the floor of the bathroom was minging, discoloured and showing evidence of mould.
I’m not sure what the tea mug was cleaned with but it made the tea un-drinkable ,,, even after rinsing it out.
The pillows were the worst ever, two of them felt as if they were full of rolled up socks, none had an inner pillowcase and clearly whoever changes the bed linen doesn’t know how to fit a pillow case…. (Tuck the flea over the pillow).
The breakfast room was  cold and devoid of atmosphere.

I wanted to like this place

Staying across the road meant no pub noise! Excellent room with good facilties - two toliets, bath and separate shower, a comfy bed [Room 3]. A wide choice breakfast menu which would do credit to a 4-star hotel. Evening meals typical pub menu but well served and presented. Very friendly staff. A great value place to stay. What's not to like!

Highly recommended!

My husband and I had a meal at this lovely place last Saturday evening. The restaurant was warm,the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food was excellent and good value for money.
We were on holiday in Westbury for the weekend and were really pleased to have found the Horse and Groom for a meal .
We would definitely look to go there again .

Excellent restaurant

We arrived on 27th June and left the same afternoon within about 1 hour.Mega disappointed in the room which was in a house across the road from the pub (no problem with the location). The room was dingy and dark and the bathroom was awful.Dirty and mega basic despite it being described as a deluxe room. Perhaps the landlord should look up the definition of deluxe. It needs a total refurbishment to present day standards. We know it was a pub B & B and that is why we chose it.
We were given our money back and found a lovely pub nearby which was really nice.

Disappointed

Stayed overnight in our camper, we parked out the way down by the garden, we had no issues in fact it was so peaceful. We had no issues at all.  The staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, the landlady checked on us whilst there and chatted. Thouroughly reccommend  this lovely quirky pub thankyou for having us I'm sure we will be back

Very Welcoming

Stayed at the B&B in the same room we stayed in a few years ago. Was good then but with the new bathroom was even better this time. Had breakfast across the road at the pub, even this has moved up a level.

What a great place and a must of you're looking for somewhere to stay in Westbury or the area. Fantastic rooms with a lovely homely feel. Bob and Carol couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. All in all a great stay and would definitely recommend!

Weekend Away

My daughter, granddaughter and I were on our way to meet family in Devon . We stayed here overnight  . We were very impressed with our whole experience . The staff were welcoming, helpful and efficient.
We ate dinner and breakfast , the food was freshly cooked and delicious. 
Our room was spotlessly clean,warm and comfortable . There were complimentary toiletries in our bathroom and other thoughtful extras like a bottle of water for each of us .We will be happy to stay  again when we are traveling to Devon .

Overnight stay on our way to Devon 

At last we were all able to go out, 18 of us on 3 separate tables of 6, following all the Covid rules booked the potting shed. What a fabulous venue your own private area, with plenty of converge should it rain. we were very lucky the sun shone, we lit the firepit toward late afternoon as it was beginning to get a bit chilly. 
The food was excellent and great value for money, the staff we attentive and very friendly. Everyone including the staff had smiles on their faces all afternoon. we would all like to thank Carol, Bob and their team for a great afternoon.

Wonderful night stay in the family room. The owners are very welcoming. All staff very friendly. Food was amazing. H&G Very clean and beautifully presented. Would totally recommend. Thank you for having us. We will be back.
