We arrived today to find that glampotel Bere Regis no longer exists!! Family of 4 with two children under 3 and no where to stay fir the next 3 nights!! 

No numbers for the property are in use

Do not book!!!

I agree with the family who posted before us below. The website is completely misleading and this place is not what you expect.

There are none of the things you’d expect from a real glamping site. No water, no electricity, the “en suite” is a cobbled together bucket of water. The extra beds are camp beds which are useless if your kids are more than 5.

They also don’t explain that the tents are in fact at the back of a touring park which is far from the picture of tranquility the website sells

For £300 for the weekend this place is a complete rip off 

Very Poor

We decided to take a short break of 2 nights just before school goes back. Frankly this place is a rip off, the website is terribly misleading, there is no composting toilet just a toilet seat with a plastic bag to p**p in. I would avoid this like the plague, we were booked for 2 nights but no way could we stay for more than the 1 night in fact the temptation was to drive home the night we arrived. The child bed could not sleep a 6 year old as he had a bar sticking in his back. This is a complete rip off and should be avoided!!

Absolutely Awful

Stayed here over the August bank holiday weekend. First experience of glamping and have the say it was very enjoyable. Note to other reviewers, this is glamping, basically posh camping. Yes there will be spiders and cobwebs, yes, you will have to refill your own water tank when you've used it all. It's all part of the camping experience.

We stayed in 'The Nest' which was big enough for two adults and a four year old. There's two solar powered lights plus a number of LED lamps, plus we brought some of our own. The camping bed for kids isn't ideal, would probably recommend bringing an air bed for kids over six.

No fridge, but cool box and freezer pack supplied. Towels, bedding etc. all included. Gas BBQ with single gas ring just about enough to prepare a meal. 

Location is a little out of the way but I guess that's to be expected. There's not a huge choice of places to buy supplies nearby. Two pubs in the village nearby.

Will definitely stay again.

A lovely experience

First of all, don’t forget that is a comping spot! You will not enjoy the same luxuries as in a hotel, but that is the charm. The tent is big, the double bed is comfortable and the beds for kids are decent enough. The bathroom is indeed limited in space and “features” the WC has a compost bag. The shower gives you hot water and you just need to refill the water deposit once a day. It does not have electricity but you are provided with a usb battery plus some lamps.
Bring warm clothes, bring some extra portable light if you want to read or play board games. Apart from that place is just what you expect if you read carefully the web page. 
The staff is great and the area is clean and nice


Very nice stay

I wish this had been a great place because I really wanted to like it but sadly Glampotel Bere Regis failed to deliver on pretty much every level. Too much to write so I'll bullet point where i can:
a) We booked 'Roost' tent, We booked this one because we specifically wanted the size and location. On arrival we were taken to Sett. Sett is smaller and not the position we wanted. Apparently the people handling the bookings ARBITRARILY allocate tents based on their own agenda regardless of which tent you book. Who does this??
b)Toilet is a bag in a plastic loo seat. Your business piles up until you leave I guess. No sawdust to cover. Just poops and wees and menstrual stuff sitting in the bag for all to see...
c)Child's bed was one of those flat mesh things people take fishing, Flat, no softness AT ALL. We ended up engineering some sort of mattress out of a spare duvet and random sleeping bag we found in a chest.
d) Don't know where the cute shelves with the pretty blue crockery and kettle were....maybe in Roost? Because they were not in Sett. In Sett we had a manky wooden cabinet that was too small to close with the plastic bowl inside
e)There is a sort of jar with a tap on it that they fill from the hose I think. This is your drinking water. It drips and went all over our bags set on the floor in front of it.
f) The lights are small LED lanterns. You can't read by them. We had to use our phone torches to read.
g) Kitchenette? A plastic bowl or you can use the main campsite facilities...
h)1st morning the shower and basin did not work. Foaming toothpaste in mouth, it turns out the battery that draws the water stopped working. It lasts about 2 weeks apparently. It clearly hasn't occurred to anyone to replace it after a week and a half so no one has to be mid shower with shampoo in their eyes when it runs out. Ditto for gas cannister.
i)matches provided were damp. Why not provide a new box for each client? We couldn't get a replacement box as THE SHOP WAS CLOSED.
j) The shower water comes from a plastic tank behind the tent. YOU the guest has to fill it each day from a hose...picture dragging a hose reel 30m to your tent and then going back to turn it on etc.....what part of this is glamorous?
k) Thinking of enjoying the sounds of nature? A bit hard when there is a FIRING RANGE and a RACING TRACK nearby, Apparently 3& 5 miles away. Seriously??? Sounded like a war zone. Starts at 9:00am Goes on ALL DAY. 

In all honestly, NOTHING about this is glamping. It is more hard work and less pleasant filling water troughs and running around the site getting the man to replace the battery and living with toilet mess in a bag than just being on a normal campsite with decent washing facilities. The ensuite shower is just manky. Sure, in the Maldives or Thailand outdoor showers are lovely. It is hot and things don't rot. Here in the UK the reality is that wood is all a bit rotten and damp and icky. It all feels somewhat yucky and permanently wet. You can use the main facilities here but that means literally piling into a car to drive to them. What part of this is nice and what is the point of paying for glamping if you are going to use the main site facilities? You couldn't even phone to get someone to fix the shower. Had to drive up as the only phone number is an 0800 main company number. Not the site number and no one answered on Sunday morning.

At least when you go normal camping, you have working facilities nearby and you take everything you will need. This place claims to provide it all but doesn't so you end up scrabbling about trying to make broken things work and constantly bothering the staff because stuff is not working or empty. Why wouldn't they make sure everything was filled up and working before each new group?

Give it a miss, really. We stayed one night and left early forfeiting 2 more nights. It wasn't worth complaining or trying to get an refund. The man seemed pleasant enough but somewhat disengaged and didn't seem to understand. So we just bid our farewell and left.
