Being a Sunday the doors opened at 12 noon not to be in direct competition with the village church 😎
ALL members of staff made us feel most welcome
We possibly went over the top having all three courses but found all three to be nicely prepared and cooked

Traveled up from Gloucestershire to have Christmas menu with our two Aunts our party 6 in total honestly could not fault the food beautifully cooked hot fresh food and desserts all homemade the quality, service and price 10 out of 10 would highly recommend staff were so efficient and friendly which goes a long way

We loved staying at the Perch and Pike in the lovely little village of South Stoke. We had a quiet room and enjoyed one of the best meals of our entire vacation in the UK at dinner.  We also loved the atmosphere of the dog-friendly pub. The breakfast was amazing and reminded us of the good old days of staying at B&Bs -- full English breakfast, fresh breads and toast, and what tasted like fresh squeezed orange juice.

Had a fabulous meal for 6 at Perch & Pike tonight and Linda’s warm Bakewell Tart was a fantastic conclusion to a wonderful evening. Tom & Millie service was immaculate and as always atmosphere was warm & friendly, perfect homely Brit Pub for a chilly November evening - thanks guys 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We based ourselves at The Perch and Pike for a three night mini break.  We were warmly welcomed by Linda and Jamie and their friendly efficient team (and a flask of fresh milk and jar of homemade shortbread in our room).
We had a most comfortable stay with excellent dinners and scrumptious breakfasts as well as the picnic lunch they kindly prepared for us.  Jamie gave us ample warning that the kitchen was closed on the Saturday night for live music and food.  It was a perfect evening for relaxing with a pint or two in the lovely garden enjoying the music and delicious baps (especially the rare beef) and meeting the local regulars.
We are booked to return in a few weeks.

Really good roast beef Sunday lunch and the staff couldn’t have been more obliging - we needed wheelchair access and they were so helpful…. Nothing was a problem. The staff were all very young but SO professional and knowledgeable - what a delight to eat somewhere and feel looked after so well. Thank you guys xxx

We are a family of 4 and an extra 2 friends that have just spent an idyllic 2 nights with Jamie & Linda at their gloriously comfortable, welcoming, friendly and traditionally modern country pub (with well integrated B&B twist).  Nothing was too much trouble - from the smallest of details - tweaking breakfast combinations - to more logistical of problems - offering a lift to my Dad to our family party - amazing! 
The rooms are absolutely amazing, comfortable, coffee machine, lovely shortbread! The breakfast - WOW! So much choice and Linda’s conversation and patience was perfect …… ‘can I have a full breakfast, but instead of this, can I have that etc etc….’. We were a table of 10 for dinner on the first night and the food did not disappoint! Jamie is everything a landlord should be - interesting, amusing, knowledgable and an all round people person. This is definitely an attitude that’s passed down through their team, because every one of them were spot on! We will absolutely be staying there again and would recommend Jamie and Linda’s Perch & Pike without hesitation! Can’t wait to visit again! John & Julie

We stayed in the Perch and Pike for two nights while visiting family in nearby Goring. The hosts are charming and friendly and have time to chat. The rooms are located in a converted barn beside the inn and are accessed either through the bar during opening hours or by an access code when the inn is closed. The room we stayed in was small but very comfortable and quiet  and we enjoyed two good nights sleep. The windows open wide, which is something I like. We didn't eat at the inn except for breakfast, but if breakfast was an indication of the quality of the food then I'm sorry we didn't.  I think it was the best breakfast of our eight day trip through England. The Perch and Pike is an excellent base for  exploring this lovely area.

Just been taken over ,so we were the first guests ,Jamie and Linda were perfect hosts,it’s a small establishment so only 4 rooms .Its a hidden gem in a quiet location,in a small village with lots of character.There is plenty of parking and also outside seating area.The breakfast is so good ,so well cooked and presented,but you need to be very hungry as the portions are very generous,I enjoyed the fresh berries Greek yogurt and granola which was excellent,my husband had the full works ,I had to pinch some of his fried bread as it was the best I’ve ever eaten ,not soggy just perfect the evening meal was ,so good once again couldn’t finish it just so generous .the building is full of character original features ,will definitely stay here again

Lovely surroundings, beautiful restaurant and comfy (and rather larger than expected) rooms. We were the classic awkward customers in terms of check in, timings and bags, but Simon had it all under control. We arrived back late to a well dressed room, which was very comfortable, cosy and clean. Breakfast was high quality and service by Simon was top draw. We will be using the Perch & Pike again if we are down near South Stoke again.

We had a lovely lunch on Mother's day. We had chicken and beef roasts and they all came with creamy parsnip puree, green veg, carrots, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and just enough gravy. The beef was really soft and very tasty. The baked American cheesecake went down and storm as did the chocolate brownies. Friendly service as well.

Country Inn

This is the first place I have stayed in during the Covid19 era and I’m pleased to say that it was a very positive experience. The landlord takes the virus seriously with very clear instructions about masks and track and trace, the whole place is very clean and all staff are attentive while maintaining social distance. The room was very comfortable and immaculate, we enjoyed two pints of good ale in the bar on arrival and the breakfast was terrific, especially the coffee, although the fresh berries ran it close. The village is gorgeous and the accommodation is housed in a converted barn.
