My friend and i had a room each.Both clean and well equipt. My friends room was a little bigger than mine.I would recommend to stay there if in the area.

Nice clean room and comfy bed

This is a very basic room above a pub - it doesnt claim to be anything different. Yes, there is noise, sadly we were woken at 5.30am by someone doing a delivery in the street - but that is always part of the trade of a central location. The bed wasnt for us, it was one of those super soft mattresses that feels good to lay on but you know will leave you walking like an octogenarian the next day. Room itself is fine, the bathroom however is in some real need of attention, care and probably ripping out and redoing. This room provided value for money in comparison to other near by establishments, but even at £75 the facilities were sparse. Although, putting hot chocolate and some biscuits out is a nice touch.We were in room 3, which I'm presuming are the non modernised rooms. Id absolutely stay again if going for a drink, but not the type of room to book for a good nights sleep.

Simple, basic room above a pub.

Good central Totnes location. The rooms were clean and adequate for the price paid.

No working wi fi. Smell of smokers outside the pub . It may be me but Union Jack cushions make me think far right rather than patriotic. Sorry.

For a one night stay all you’re looking for really is a good bed and a decent shower. Here I got neither.

Ancient mattress

The location is great for Totnes main street and staff friendly but £100 a night is over priced, no breakfast or car parking included either. The parking meter outside is for an hour only in the day. The rooms are directly above the pub so you can hear the bar music clearly. But the music does stop promptly at 11pm. No double glazing ( to be fair the pub is probably listed so can't have it) means you can hear everything including the rain falling from a broken gutter outside the window, so it's noisy. Take ear plugs. The room is tired and needs a refresh as does the shower which keeps falling off its 'arm'. Totnes however is well worth a visit. And the staff are lovely.

Room was cosy and good size. However we didn’t have a great nights sleep as every hour or so a noisy fan or boiler kicked in somewhere near which woke us up. Windows quite thin too so noisy from outside. Good facilities, room had a few areas which needed cleaning (big stain on wall, very dusty bathroom extractor fan) but good location and absolutely lovely staff, just shame we didn’t manage to get a good sleep.

We were welcomed by Jake who was extremely helpful and swiftly checked us in.  Had a great meal, burger and the fish platter- both huge portions and v tasty.  Great room, comfy bed, good bathroom, towels changed even though we were only there 36 hours.  Staff did everything the could and were v informative re taxis etc- would def stay again if ever down that way.
