I would definitely stay here again the owner was friendly, the rooms were decorated nicely, the room was clean and there was enough space to store all of our belongings.  The only things I would say were the room I was staying in was a little on the small side but nothing too bad.  A very minor inconvenience was that some of the channels on the television did not work or had static when you changed to them but this did not impact my stay at all it was just something I noticed.  All in all great stay and friendly owner.

Stayed here for 4 nights with our friends. 2 double rooms at a cost of £50 per couple per night. This is extremely reasonable in comparison to other hotels in this location. 
Rooms were perfectly adequate for what we needed. Slept very well with no disturbances. 
Location is brilliant with many walks close to the hotel. 
The host was brilliant, asked him to print something off for us and he was more than happy to. 
All in all fantastic value and a great stay.

Stayed for 5 nights here and had nothing to fault at all! Lovely host very polite and helpful rooms spotless and anything at request! Ample parking too,,, would recommend without hesitation only a stones throw from torquay and really easy to access with local shops well within walking distance

Comfortable, clean bed and a decent shower in a great location. Local amenities are excellent and only a few minutes drive or bus to Torquay harbour. The proprietor is very friendly and most informative.

lovely clean room with all you need a very comfortable bed ,room only but tea / coffee in room free onsite parking with short walk to bus stop with regular service till 11.30 would definately stay again

Ansteys Lea is a small comfortable hotel in a great location, a 2 minute walk to Wellswood with shops, cafes and a pub !. Clean, basic facilities and friendly service, excellent value for money, will definitely stay there again.

This is a small hotel just moments away from Wellswood an Ansteys Cove. Great value for money with lovely accommodation. Light and airy rooms and relatively quiet even though you are situated on the Babbacombe road. Hotelier is very friendly and will go the extra mile to make your stay a memorable one. Will definitely return.

Returned to this very coseyy and friendly hotel. The rooms are very well decorated and clean. There are two types of room available, one with small kitchens and just rooms. All have ensuite facilities and the management cannot do enough to help you have a very pleasant stay. The tea and coffee in the rooms are replenished requested and it is excellent value for the accommodation. Local shops are less than five minutes walk away and there is a wonderful little restaurant called the Waddling Duck. There are also two other very good eatting places in the precinct as well as a pub. The beautiful Ansteys Cove is a 10 minute walk away with Kent’s Caverns half way down. I will dispute duncanhobbs report that they charge you a £1extra for extra pillows and coffee/teas. They don’t!  Extra teas, coffees and milk are free on request and never ever charged for. 
We have been coming here for ten years and will always return to this fabulous establishment in the future.

Great stay at this hotel. Lovely building. Good self catering facilities in the room and nice and comfortable. Friendly, accommodating owner and within good access of local shops and harbour a 10/15 minute walk away. We had a lovely break and will return again!

We had room 11 & 12 

Room 11 has a small shower room with hand basin and toilet. Shower you can get in if extra slim. Hot water certain times of the day. Supplies tea coffee etc. but kettle to big to fill from sink. 
King size bed with a double quilt (15tog)  too small for 2 people, had to get the spare single quilt from room 12.
Half of the plug sockets not working either 
Room 12 is a twin room with bathroom. Lots better that room 11, but again most sockets not working. 

When you look out the emergency exit, which was next to our rooms there was a large ladder tied to it at top of steps and paint pots on bottom of steps

We also book breakfast with out stay, only to be told the if there are more than 8 people then he would cook it. 

Ansteys Lea is a really a Faulty towers hotel in all honesty

But the owner was a lovely person
