Had Sunday lunch and husband had fish. The food, atmosphere and service was excellent. Even more impressive that it's cooked outside on a wood burning oven. You may need to walk to the pub from a "park and walk" area, as no parking unless you are staying there, but easy 10 min walk for most people.

Excellent unusual pub

Lovely Sunday lunch. Food is amazing and the setting is lovely quiet oldy worldly. Chef does an amazing job to cook such wonderful food making do with the temporary cooking arrangements. Roast Beef was described as wonderful. Vegetables were superb and a meal in themselves

Lovely Sunday lunch

I love this fabulous pub . It ticks all the boxes . Fantastic food , great olde world charm , friendly staff and well priced considering the standard of the food . I had whole sea bass which was delicious , cooked to perfection and with a wonderful , flavoursome sauce . The pizzas are excellent and this is from somebody who wouldn’t order pizza normally. Would definitely recommend, I’ll certainly be returning when I next visit . Thanks to all the Tower team .

A treat not to be missed .

This is our third time eating at the Tower Inn and it was absolutely fabulous. The service is great, the pub is very traditional and cosy with a great atmosphere. The chef cooks outside on a griddle and BBQ type kitchen equipment. We had whole seabass and chips sprinkled with garlic. The fish was beautifully cooked and the sauce was delicious. Our daughters had the butternut squash ravioli and the burger and both were fantastic. We can't wait to return and try the sharing steak next time. Would Highly recommend.

Fabulous food in a lovely traditional cosy pub

We visited the tower in tonight for our evening meal,  the setting is just amazing,  but the food is outstanding, my husband had a fabulous sirloin steak,  it was done to perfection, I had a mozzarella salad which was so gorgeous,  the staff are so friendly and make you feel really welcome, think Adam was the barman he was very friendly,  then Eve Katie Dom sorry can't remember all your names, but what a fabulous team,  thanks very much for a wonderful evening.

Evening meal

I visited here again after some 40 years . It wasn’t disappointing then and it certainly isn’t now . This is a fabulous , atmospheric olde worlde pub charming in and out and totally unspoilt . Staff are very friendly , great at their jobs and the food is fantastic . I have to congratulate the chefs following their kitchen fire in setting up a pizza oven and outdoor temporary kitchen . Very innovative . I hope when the refurbed kitchen opens they will keep this area for some cooking , as it is unique and adds something special to a very special pub . Will definitely be back next summer . Thank you all .

Fabulous , character pub . A must when in Slapton .

We were staying in the village for a week and tried this pub on recommendation.  It’s a lovely place, tucked away, in a gorgeous old building with lots of character.  It gets busy and is worth booking ahead but food is really worth it.  A smallish menu of unexpectedly wonderful food cooked in what looks like a makeshift shed of a kitchen but is a culinary miracle.  Service is efficient and very friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming.  Prices are very reasonable too.  We went back again the following day and we might make a third visit.

What a lovely surprise to find this pub in the village

If you don’t like rustic and authentic you will hate this pub……we thought it was fabulous! 

Amazing roast lunch - best I’ve had for yonks.  Cooked over fire and soooo tasty.  Nothing was too much trouble.  The children were happy and catered for and the dog curled up under the table.

The food was incredible and extra gravy brought to us as standard.  The veggies were cooked to perfection and the meat was very tasty.

Amazing roast cooked over fire - a great find!

We had a late Sunday lunch at the tower yesterday and it was PERFECT! So much so I had to write a review. All the food was beautifully cooked and delicious, the staff were delightful. A few of us had roasts, veggie and meat, all delicious , and there were also burgers, calamari and stuffed peppers ( mine, so good!) We hung about for most of the afternoon, we had kids and dogs with us, and we felt really welcomed. The pub itself is worth visiting and has a great atmosphere, doesn’t feel too ‘done up’ - just perfect! I would really recommend it- it’s not often you feel you’ve had a really satisfying ‘eating out’ experience in south Devon during the summer holidays!

Best meal of our 10 day stay in the area. Limited menu but variety (not  just fish, burger or a steak) with local produce which is cooked very well. Lovely environment and good attentive service. Web site doesn’t do it justice and is being updated. Would definitely recommend.
