I booked a weekend trip for my mums 67th Birthday. I went through Booking.com but there seemed to be an issue with my card and no deposit was taken from my account. I contacted the hotel to double check the booking, and the owner’s son confirmed no booking was made. I also contacted a 2nd time and spoke to the owner who said if no payment was taken from my account, then the booking would not have gone through.
I had not received any confirmation of the booking so thought this has been sorted. Sadly a few days later my mum has a stroke so the holiday wouldn’t have happened anyway. At least 2 months later I was at work and got a text from the landlord to say that our room was ready? I work In the NHS so difficult to have my phone on me all the time. I text back to say that we didn’t go ahead with the booking. The owner then said the booking was still live. £200.00 was also taken from my account. 

I contacted Booking.com who were very sympathetic to our situation and wrote on our behalf to the owner explaining my mum’s ill health and the lack of communication between all parties. To my disappointment the owner responded to say that they will not be issuing a refund even though she said there was lack of communication and misunderstanding.So, my mum and I are out £200.00 for a trip we didn’t even attend. 



Poor communication 

We only had two nights stay but wish it had been longer. We were made extremely welcome by Margaret on our arrival. She explained the breakfast procedure and showed us to our room. Everything we needed was there, even a small fridge on the landing for guests use. The breakfast was excellent!  Lots of choice and cooked fresh. They even have a special board (eggs benedict was delicious) Location too was great, handy for the seafront and buses.

Two nights

Myself and my partner stayed here for a week.
We stayed in room 4, which is quite small, but has an added bonus of a balcony which we used daily.
It was spotless with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fresh water, and wine glasses.
There is a fridge on the landing for anyone to use. 
The breakfasts are to die for, with something different on the specials board everyday.
Margaret the owner, is a mountain of knowledge about the area, places to visit and eat.
We have booked for next year and can't wait to return.
The best B&B we've stayed in by far. You will not be disappointed.

The Belmore is the best b & b in Sandown, in our opinion. Margaret and Michael always make you so welcome, the breakfasts are brilliant, and the waffles with plum compote are to die for. The rooms are immaculate, so clean and neat and tidy, there really is nothing to fault. Thank you for an amazing stay as usual. Never change.

Holiday

Our stay was short unfortunately, just two nights. Upon arrival, the owner Margaret was there to greet us and show us around. She talked us through the breakfast routine and told us about the new look Townhouse, once The Belmore. The decor is gorgeous and the whole place felt very clean and comfortable. Due to Covid and to make sure the breakfast room was not too busy, you will be requested to choose your breakfast for the following day the night before and text is through to Margaret. The food is delicious and served fresh and hot. 
Our room was gorgeous, room 5, very art deco and very comfortable. There were extra touches such as, two wine glasses, as well as water glasses and proper seaside themed mugs, not the cheap white things normally provided at a B&B. Also provided is a glass bottle of fresh water and variety or teas, coffee and hot chocolate sachets. Our bathroom was luxurious and the bed extremely comfortable. 
In the hallway is a red fridge for guests. It is shared by all, but allows you to chill a bottle of wine or beer in it or keep any perishable purchases in. 
Although there is on street parking, we didn't see a free space for the 3 days we were there. We parked in the car park just across from the Townhouse and paid for a visitors permit using the code 71000 not the location number for the car park. This way you can park anywhere on the island with the same car park for no additional cost. Two days was £15, the hourly rate is £1.70

This place has the 'Wow' factor

During the October half term we went to The Isle of Wight.  We stayed in The Belmore B&B in Sandown for 2 nights. What a lovely place, Margaret  was a great host!  The location is perfect, 1 minute away from the  high street with good shops and 2 minutes away from the beach. The decor was very tasteful, breakfast was tasty and on time. Finally the most important thing for me, this place was spotless. I haven't  been in a cleaner B&B, at least not in the UK.
The Belmore  is a beautiful B&B, great value for money, great host with friendly chat and helpful advise, which I have never experienced before as normally we stay in hotels.

The Belmore B&B in Sandown

This was my fifth visit to the Belmore and it didn’t disappoint. We stayed in Room Three this time which was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The breakfast was great quality and the B&B’s location two minutes walk from the amazing seafront is fantastic. Mick and Margaret were fabulous hosts as ever helped by their charming son Paul. Could not recommend this place enough - thanks for another lovely stay, we will definitely be back in 2021! 

Another lovely visit to Sandown

My wife and I were desperate for a short break this October and decided that ‘a known quantity’ was the best option.
We’ve always thoroughly enjoyed our visits to the Belmore and once again they did not disappoint.
We were all observing COVID-19 precautions but everything still seemed pretty seamless but obviously Micheal and Margaret were involved with extra duties ie scrupulous cleaning etc.
Despite this we were once again made to feel totally welcome and enjoyed our stay enormously - breakfast is still great.
Thanks to everyone there for a good relax and hopefully we will return early in the new year.

Between lockdowns visit

Hosts were so lovely- made us very welcome and offered help. Good communication and gave us their number for if we have any questions. Breakfast was far better than we expected. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend and return. Everything was clean and comfortable.

Lovely b&b

Had a wonderful few nights here. Margeret couldnt have been more helpful and accomadating finding us a room at short notice during a very busy spell. Beautifully decorated place and absolutely spotless, with very impressive Covid precautions, alot more stringent more than anywhere ive seen lately so that added to peace of mind. The beds were incredibly comfy as was the roll top bath and black out curtains added to making sure we had the best nights sleep. . Great breakfast too. And a short hop to a beautiful beach. I cannot recommned enough.
