The hotel was nice , staff friendly and helpful. The rooms were fine, clean and tidy nothing fancy but did the job, would stay there again.  Ate in the bistro first nite of stay food was ok, got chicken and onion rings although thought was a bit dear for bit of chicken and 2 onion rings had to order mash seperate. Staff in bar were very helpful and friendly served by few different guys cannot remember all their names but young guy called Ryan was very helpful.

Weekend break

Just back from 2 nights  had lovely time  room nice and clean and quiet  .

Food lovely had evening meal and breakfast.  Both lovely

What makes this a 5 star review is the staff  from bar and restaurant to reception everyone was really friendly and welcoming 


Great

Booked a double room, was gave 2 single beds that were pushed together and maids had to change for a double duvet 😵. Bathroom was that small couldn't swing a cat in it. Shower was small and cramped, no fan or air was very claustrophobic and hard to breathe 🫁 (I'm asthmatic) pillows were pathetic no neck support what so ever. Enquired about menu in restaurant, staff were rude and said that would be closing early as it's quiet, so we decided to go else where for dinner when we returned the restaurant was still open and busy 🤷 (was not impressed) standards need improved!!!!!!

Disappointing stay!

Honestly not great and definitely losing its touch. Stayed here often over the years and last night put me off visiting again. Not a four star, rooms are very basic and the bathroom is 3 star at best. Decor is extremely outdated and everything just looks tired, money needs to be spent to bring this hotel into the modern tourism industry. Dinner was good and couldn't really be faulted, probably the only positive.

2 o'clock in the morning we were wakened to next door having a full on party. I called reception couldn't get through so went looking for a night porter to sort the noise. He came upstairs and gently spoke with the room next told them to keep the volume down as there were others in the hotel. Of course this didn't work so had to knock on the door a few times until they finally listened. 

Spoke with reception this morning to try and discuss the drama the night before I got a very pathetic apology. The anchor is most definitely off our list for future stays.

Only pay for your room when checking out because trust me you will have issues

Ordered the honey chilli chicken from the menu, what i got was chickenless batter with veg smothered in honey chilli sauce - rip off. Skinny fries was ok but only got a small cup of them. Guinness was £6 a pint! This is in Portstewart, what a liberty!

Expensive terrible food

We stayed for one night in this lovely hotel. It is in the perfect location for access to everything in Portstewart, at the top end of the promenade, round the corner from the cliff walk to the beach. The bedroom was warm and comfortable, the food good and the staff very friendly and helpful. All you could ask for, and great value for money. 

Perfect Portstewart accommodation 

Were shall I start, this was a Christmas present, 

1) step stairs to room
2) pillows dreadful, fit for skip
3) massive gap around door frame see photo
4) batteries in remote faulty
5) restaurant for evening meal could not find my booking
6) placed at a table were there was a pillar ( see photo) and told this was our booked table, other guests came in and picked there table
7) meal was cold and tastless ( rubber fish only way to describe this)
8) asked for a salad and was told no lettuce left in kitchen.

When I reported this to the receptionist in morning so i could speak with the manager, some assistant got rather sharp and found this very unacceptable for a company staff member who was standing in for a manager called Paul who never showed up at 11.00

This property states it is 4 star but with staff acting as a manager is unacceptable.
There was an elderly couple who also complained but fell on deaf ears.

Currently reading reviews I must think I'm staying in a different hotel I've been to Anchorage numerous occasions and have another 2 nights booked this weekend 24th to 26th firstly hotel is spotless staff amazing especially lovely melanie at reception food out of this world entertainment outstanding yes it's a nightclub at weekends and they provide doormen who btw are lovely guys and you do hear the odd bit of music but I believe if ya cant beat em join em beds are massive and comfortable free water in rooms provided  ear plugs also in rooms o don't normally do reviews but feel in this case hotel deserves credit btw is any1 happy goin to work I certainly ain't a bundle of laughs all I can say food staff inc doormen rooms entertainment top class and melanie cant wait to see you again that lovely smile of yours keep up good work 

Outstanding hotel

Stayed here over night lady at desk was lovely as we checked in but other staff weren't, they were very rude, foods lovely ordered Chicken Goujons as a main they didnt come with chip had to add on cost £17.50 for meal which was small, went down about 1or2 in morning to get glasses of water and drink , we were asked about are bill which could off been left to nxt morning as there card machine was down and there was no money in there bank machine they had on site, when we got are bill the nxt morning which was sitting at reception for anyone to look at, there was drinks on it we never ordered or had tbh the whole say at the place made us feel like we weren't welcome don't no if the bouncer is the owner but he wasn't very nice he was very rude wasn't nice to to us and other ppl that were staying there, defo not what u expected from the place ill never be bk to stay.

Terrible place to stay, people skills training would defo be needed.

Lovely hotel on the main street. Very easy check in. Staff were all lovely. Room on 2nd floor was perfect. Safe, tea coffee facilties. Shower and especially bed were lovely. Nice choice for breakfast bread, cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice, tea, coffee. There is also a choice of hot food with a mix of poached eggs, sausage, bacon, mushrooms and a vegetarian choice. Overall a lovely hotel the bar area is  big with plenty of seating and the decor is perfect. Very popular place. Would definitely recommend a stay here.Free parking in the town and 2 small car parks across from the hotel. Excellent value for money.
