Comfortable, friendly and good value in the Cotswolds. A small inn with 5 modern rooms with all the amenities. As a bonus, this inn was visited by the author J.R.R.Tolkien and was an inspiration to his writings as stated on a plaque at the front door.

Our room had very comfortable beds and lovely linens, modern bathroom with a walk in shower. The rooms are located in a quiet location right off the garden and not close to the pub section to give you a good night sleep. The town is a sleepy town so most of those coming to this pub are locals and come in for a pint or 2 and therefore I don't believe you would have worries of rowdy crowds to interrupt your sleep. The complimentary hot English breakfast they serve in the morning was so delicious and kept you going all day. Homemade jams and breads, yogurt, cereals, fresh fruit in addition to the hot breakfast items.

We arrived on a Sunday and had reserved a table for Sunday roast. We had a lovely table set and ready for our arrival. The meal was so delicious and was huge! (We could have shared one). Highly recommend their roast.
The owner, John, is very friendly, as are his staff. and it was a great place to end your day in the pub before settling down for the night in a beautiful room.

I can highly recommend this inn, their staff and the location.

Comfortable rooms, great food, convenient to train station

Lovely little inn. We stayed in a room upstairs above the pub, which was really above the staff area, so no pub noise. There was some noise from the courtyard but ended around 10 or 11. The stairs were steep and so a bit tricky managing luggage but we did okay and did get help getting out bags upstairs. The room was great. Huge, looked very nice and upgraded. The shower was great, although the bathroom was small but worked for us. Coffee maker and kettle in the room along with biscuits. No fridge. We had a queen sized bed and a twin. The mattress was a bit soft for me, but still comfortable. Breakfast was included and was excellent. The yogurt was amazing as were the homemade jams and marmalade. Full English and other hot breakfast was also included and good. Location is very convenient to the train station and within walking distance. When exiting the platform it's actually better to turn right. You can stop into the grocery store on your way and crossing the highway is easier from this direction. It's also easier for rolling luggage. We had dinner one night which was good pub food. Just note, the garlic "bread" is really just pizza dough with garlic butter. We loved Finn the doodle. Such a sweet dog. We were in Morton the weekend of the ag show and there were dogs everywhere! We loved it!! Morton is a good base for the Cotswolds with trains and busses to other villages. The town itself was pretty.

Quintessential English Country Inn

This was the highlight of our trip to England. John and his staff were so accommodating and wonderful. The pub is very friendly and warm and the room was very large and the bed was so comfortable. We loved  the town and especially enjoyed the walking paths and coming back for a pint in the evening and chat with John and his staff. We can’t wait to come back and see our new friends again. Thank you so much John! And Finley too!

Lovely traditional British pub right next to a great fish and chip shop in glorious Cotswold town! Good selection of beer and cider, much of it from local breweries! There is also accomodation and a pub food menu but I haven't tried either so far!

Great Cotswold Pub!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights in early November. We were there to visit the Cotswolds, and this location made a good homebase. We found this hotel to be quaint, comfortable, clean, and affordable. Our room was huge and clean, and the Restaurant/pub was inviting, warm, and served good food at a reasonable price. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again where we ever to return to this area.

Great rooms and good food

Wonderful stay in The Hayloft at The Bell Inn. We were welcomed warmly by the team and were impressed with the amenities and modern en suite bathroom. Lovely to have kettle and coffee maker in room. The owner runs an excellent pub and a top notch lodging option. We were especially impressed with the cook to order breakfast each morning. If you aren’t staying in Moreton in Marsh, at least stop in for a pint - it’s a great place! 

Incredible hospitality at The Bell!

We attended this fabulous place to try one of the recommended Sunday lunches and cask ales, and wanted to know what the whole hoohar was about. It did not disappoint! The lady we were greeted by (lady had long red hair) was so accommodating and so kind and friendly, she had an answer for everything that we asked about the pub itself and the area (we asked lots of questions). The food was out of this world, great portions and the cask ale was so smooth and tasty. My friend had the sea bass and that was exquisite.
We will definitely be back to The Bell Inn, also recommending it, and you should be proud to have such knowledgeable, welcoming members of staff. Highly recommended.

Exquisite food and fantastic staff.

Stayed here while visiting the Cotswolds.  Convenient from London and a great base for walks or excursions to other town. Staff went out of their way every day to make sure we had a pleasant stay.  Close to walking trails and roads or buses to other towns.

Great service and comfy rooms with a great location

We both had a great weekend stay at the bell. The staff and manager were so helpful and polite , really welcoming . The room was fantastic and as described before we booked . Entertainment was really good and this establishment felt the the focal point to f the town. Breakfast was delicious and the service personal and friendly. Not forgetting Finlay the dog :) The only niggle was the heating. Every time we wanted the heating on we had to ask the bar to switch it on. Small point.  But otherwise amazing stay.

A great little pub to enjoy a light lunch (Ploughman's) and to enjoy the Six Nations
The pub had very friendly staff and delicious food - highly recommended. Will be definitely returning if visiting Morton in Marsh again
