The worse place I have been to. I could not say stayed at as we walked out and booked elsewhere. In dire need of renovation. 
Unkempt drive down, fence falling over,  nettled in the parking area,  plaster over reception area floor,  damp smell, room atrocious, several spiders and webs in room to welcome us, dodgy electrical equipment, tiles coming lose, bedroom carpet not hoovered,  window seat with no cushion, mouldy wardrobe, filthy cups, furniture.  There really are no words to describe it. Now I’m fighting for a refund! Think environmental health need to pay a visit.

WE WALKED OUT

Everything was awful . Worst hotel I have ever stayed in . 
Staff (1 lady) was not professional and only concerned with taking my money .  The hotel was very unkept . Smelt , pictures hanging off walls , weeds everywhere & very overgrown .  Bedroom was dated , but we expected that , but we didn’t expect for wall paper to be falling off the ceiling . Bathroom wasn’t very clean . Only 1 teabag in a room for 2 people, wasn’t worth complaining because the cups were filthy anyway . 
We had two room (2 couples ) I room had two single beds literally chucked together , one of the headboards had fell off and just been left . I was told that they do not offer  parking !! But they had spaces, very odd . 
THEY DO NOT SERVE BREAKFAST OR ALCOHOL . (Did not know until we arrived , false advertising on website ) 
English was a struggle for the receptionist . (I use the word receptionist loosely ) . 
If I had not booked through bookings.com we would of walked out , but they would of taken my money anyway & all hotel in Market Rasen were fully booked .
I would be surprised if they are planning to keep this hotel as a hotel .

AVOID - CHANGED HANDS . I WOULD OF GIVEN IT ZERO IF I COULD

Absolutely NOT as advertised! One member of staff who appears to be a caretaker, very pleasant but some confusion over whether we had paid or not (now resolved). Reviews spoke of friendly host, excellent breakfast and onsite restaurant and bar... none of which are now the case! No food (including breakfast), no restaurant, no bar. 'Beautiful grounds' spectacularly overgrown and uncared for. In fairness the room was a good size and relatively clean and the location is good should you want to walk into Market Rasen but overall avoid at all costs!

Disappointing - changed hands? Avoid...

We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else when in the area, as we had such a lovely stay last visit over two years ago. Charming welcome by Kevin who kindly assists with luggage, I was given a free upgrade, a comfy bright room, well equipped, 2 bottles of complimentary water & a choocy, jug of fresh milk offered for room, very comfy beds, bath with shower over, decor in keeping with characterful house, lovely view, very quiet location lots of parking space. Breakfast in "Poachers room"  cooked to order and served to you, was perfectly cooked. Mums room overlooked the garden and was equally nice. We will be back again no question. Thank you for a lovely restful stay again.

Returning with pleasure

We had our wedding day here 34 years ago and when we were asked to attend a family get together at MR races we jumped at the chance to return to The Limes. 

We were welcomed by the owners who were extremely friendly and we were given room 12 which was at the rear of the hotel and directly next to the fire escape, This was ideal for transferring luggage from the car park, although none of the rooms should cause any real problem in that respect. 

Our room was large, with a super view over the gardens, the only down point was that the shower was a hand held over the bath with no wall bracket. This made it almost impossible to shower and I prefer a shower to a bath. The decor is a little dated but everything was spotlessly clean and this only adds to the charm. I did feel that for the size of the room a King size bed would have been more appropriate and comfortable rather than the double provided but it was comfy and we managed. The facilities in the room are superb and clearly a lot of care is taken to make guests comfortable. 

Breakfast in the morning was served at a specified time arranged previously and it is clear that Kevin has this organised to a tee. We chose the standard breakfast both days but there were plenty of options and tea and toast top up was offered at appropriate times. More than adequate, the breakfast can only be rated as first class. 

The location is perfect, as we booked accommodation at separate times we could not all stay together and other family members were staying at other hotels in the town and complained of constant traffic noise. Our experience could not have been any more different. The Limes is a 5 minute walk from the town center but could be in the middle of the countryside, the grounds and areas around the hotel are vast and peaceful with wildlife such as rabbits and birds providing constant entertainment, especially if you have the window table for breakfast.

All in all we had a very pleasant return to The Limes and I would have no hesitation in re-booking if we ever come back to Market Rasen.

Me and my dad stayed here twice in late June and early July whilst in the area on business , the owners are very friendly and the hotel is clean and our room (1) was very spacious and even though it was very hot outside the room was nice a cool , the hotel is in a great location with a short drive to wragby , Lincoln , nettleham and cherry willingham . We had the choice of a en suite bath or shower and being only a few hundred yards from shops and restaurants we ate out a couple of times in the Indian but also the owners let us bring fish and chips back and provided us with plates and cutlery to eat in the dining room which I think was a nice touch. The room price was fair and a lot cheaper than the overpriced hotels in Lincoln. We will 100% return here again when in the area on business . Douglas and Douglas

Yes, the hotel is a little dated and yes the plumbing is old and maybe the mattress in room 1 was not the best in the world. However, the big tree lined garden full of rabbits, pheasant etc is gorgeous. The gentleman who greets you is warm and welcoming. It is a quiet and peaceful night’s sleep in a big room. The breakfast is delicious, seated in a bay window  overlooking the lovely garden. The other guests were friendly and chatty. We will definitely return.
The charm and warmth of the place far outweighs its negatives. (Kevin, I found a sentence for its)! Thank you again.

Travel back to the 70’s

We stayed for 1 night this week, Victorian house in it's own grounds very peaceful location with lots of wildlife in the garden. Room was large with everything we could have needed. Breakfast was excellent, cooked to order and kept us going for the whole day - great bacon and Lincolnshire sausages very tasty.
Nothing was too much trouble, we will definitely stay there aagin.
Short 5 mins walk into the centre of Market Rasen.
