We visited Saturday at 5pm and were greeted and given a table quickly with our baby . Our order was taken and food was served quickly.  

We had the fish and chips and the burger both supper tasty! 

Would highly recommend to anyone to take a visit lovely place nice calming atmosphere and great service!

We visited on the 14th January for a birthday dinner then again on the 14th February for a Valentine's lunch. We were not disappointed.  Service is still excellent and the food delicious. Checkers is a really welcoming place and we can't wait to visit again.

A very welcoming place

My husband and I stayed here with friends (separate rooms) - for one night- a Sunday night- as part of a special deal. We had a wonderful 3 course meal in the evening by the roaring log burner, then had a drink next to the open fire in the bar area. We retired to our exquisitely decorated rooms just across the path. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were furnished with everything needed for a lovely stay. Breakfast next morning was perfect- in a beautiful room with a cosy fire again. Such a special place. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We will definitely do this again.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful place

Excellent comfortable room for an overnight stay or longer-well equipped ensuite- tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk supplied. The rooms are separate from the pub so very quiet and in beautiful countryside. Breakfast was amazing with an extensive choice from the menu- served next to the open fire which had been lit for us!  The staff were really friendly and helpful. 
We plan to come back again in the summer!

Fantastic accommodation and welcoming atmosphere!

A wonderful quiet pub with rooms in the middle of the Lincolnshire countryside. The room I staged in - Angelica - had a super king-size bed and walk-in shower to match. The room was lovely and bright and airy with three Velux windows. The menu is a treat - try the cheese soufflé to start, it's amazing - and Peroni on tap. But it's the staff who really make this place: Emma is a wonderful host who can't do enough for a you and a chat with Charlie, the barman, reveals a knowledge of alcoholic drinks that is nothing short of incredible. Oh, and if you're a vodka lover, try the Chase potato vodka - an absolute dream...

An oasis of food, drink and service...

The food, as ever, was delicious at the Chequers.  We had a couple of issues with service but we sorted those out with lady who served us.   What was disappointing was the new menu.   Firstly with choice and secondly with the disparity in portion size.   If you don’t want beef, burger or a pie, then your choice on the new menu is limited.  Where is the classic Chequers main course salad?  Where’s the innovation like the Lebanese salad you had a year or so back, and Baba Ganoush for starter?  The salmon with indian tones you had last year?    Something with taste;  everything on the new menu was so bland.   I chose Sea Bass.  I was served two very small Sea Bass fillets, a tablespoon of small beans, 4 thin broccoli spears and some celeriac cubes.  It was all piled onto one half of the plate and the other half was a small jug of sauce.  I’m not a big eater, but it just wasn’t enough, even for me.   Luckily, my husband’s beef dish was generous in the extreme, and I was able to pinch some of his potatoes.   Why such a big disparity in portion sizes?   The morale is if you choose the Sea Bass, then be sure to order a side!

Disappointing

Was such a wonderful evening and the room was clean and just perfect. The evening food was amazing and the breakfast was top notch!! Only one thing was I found the pillows lumpy but it is just me. The room was stylish

A really lovely meal ….  Service spot on,food excellent, wine fabulous, desert nice … great cozy atmosphere. Busy for a Tuesday evening so book in advance ….  Really impressed ….  The decor is great …. A real country pub …. Highly recommended…🤩

Excellent

We went to the Chequers for a Sunday evening meal. There was a good range of real ale and the food was very good. My favourite thing was the layout of the pub, lots of small spaces so the dining experience was very intimate. There was ample parking.

Lovely ‘old style’ pub and dining.

Never disappointed.  We go for one drink and end up staying all night and eating because the food is always so good.  Best local by far.  The owners are always friendly and the staff always have a smile on them.
