Don't listen to any of the bad reviews, this place is amazing and I am really sad that we won't be able to go next year due to it doing weddings.
We spent a week here, in Aug 21 in a tent and it was 10 x better than a week spent in South Devon 2 weeks before that cost 5 x more.
The staff are extremely friendly, Jim met us and showed us to our tent site and was always happy to stop and chat.
The location is amazing, I love Cornwall but I fell in love with North Devon on this holiday and have re booked at the campsite next door for next year. 
This campsite was always clean, the food food was topnotch. We had an amazing week filled with happy memories and I am just sad that we found such a fantastic place and we can't re book 😪

Amazing place

So where should I start. I visited with my family and boyfriend in June. When we arrived the place seemed very nice. 

I’ll list the pros and cons but there is more cons than pros obviously. Please don’t Believe all the good reviews! 

Cons - When we first arrived in our motor home we were greeted by a guy and I assume he was the owner which he definitely was. Something just seemed off about him we all thought!.  When we got to our pitch we decided to go and get something to eat which is advertised on there website and saying there’s food everyday of the week. When we got there we was greeted by 3 women at reception and they told us to do the covid app and they then said there was no food till Thursday when stated on the website they serve food all week which is clearly false advertising. We wasn’t pleased!

We couldn’t get the app to work but thankfully we did and got served our overpriced drinks. Then another guy walked in and just because it was there friend they served him right away! My stepdad was angry and upset and had to say something and then a  women I presume 2nd owner got really funny and started arguing with him saying “He is our friend” but it isn’t right considering we’re in a pandemic. 

As soon after we left and the owner gave my stepdad him really dirty looks and one said if you don’t like it go, no apologies no refund nothing totally rude and unwelcoming saying you can go somewhere else. We drove along way as we live near London and we ended up ordering takaway. Staff were just rude!

Pros - Only good things about this place was the heated pool and the nice views! 

Nothing else is not good! AVOID

We’ve just had a fabulous Swimming Weekend at Watermouth Cove Holiday Park. Stayed in Bay Apartment and Cove Apartment at the top if the slipway to the beautiful private beach. Apartments are well equipped and very clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Restaurant serves good food, reasonably priced. Lovely outdoor heated swimming pool. Beautiful bays nearby perfect for swimming. Thank you for a great holiday Jim and your Team!!

Swimming Holiday

The place is run down. Showers are blocked off at the most inconvenient times. Several times a day. The worst part is the land at the back is shared with the Jetski Club and they make a lot of noise. No good for Weddings etc. Pitches cramped. Avoid.

Not good

What an amazing place. The staff on site, reception, behind the bar have all been so unbelievable,  polite and service with a smile. Always happy to help out and great advice for beaches and other places to go. The site is well situated,  clean and has some breath taking views. The facilities are great, pool, bar and restaurant and shower areas. 
The only down side is I have just found this little gem, and they are only taking bookings for events and weddings now.....absolutely gutted.....but will definitely be coming back for the events next year.

Amazing.....That's it!!!!

Wow what a week we had at watermouth Cove! We all loved every minute. The facilities were lovely and clean and accessible. The site was full, however it never felt too busy. E.g. never had to wait for a table/ always got a seat by the pool. All the staff were lovely and friendly and Jim even gave us a ride to the pitch with the puppy in tow! Thanks for picking up the puppy poo and sick Jim! True dog dedication! Being Dog friendly meant we could take our puppy Fred in all areas making our stay even more stress free. Only downside is the site is closing. Hopefully join for an event in the future. Thanks again Watermouth Cove ❣

Fantastic holiday!!

The absolute best campsite and facilities and amazing friendly Jim plus all staff there make it just perfect, nothing is too much trouble. Dissapointed we won’t be able to return when it converts to a Wedding Venue but hopefully my bestie Heidi and Tim will be booking a wedding there (Jim-the firefighter with the muscles!) Thankyou x

Amazing

Just left this fantastic place at the weekend. It was our first time and just loved it. Everything was just right for us.  Clean and well maintained. 

Pitch was a great size and fully serviced. Pool was amazing even under COVID restriction. Food and bar service were first class. Staff were so friendly and helpful really don’t understand some of the negative reviews for this. I ordered wine with my meal and unfortunately it was not to my taste so returned it and the staff couldn’t have been nicer, refunding me and offering another drink.
So many great places to visit in the area and if your into walking the coastal path is beautiful and on your doorstep

Great family holiday

This was our fourth visit in five years and just when you think it can’t get better it does! My family and I are leaving after a terrific 3 week stay on an educational XL all weather fully facilitated pitch which was excellent. We want to say a huge thank you to Jim / Jack For the lovely welcome  and for launching and recovering our boat so quickly and to the all other staff across the site  for dealing with all our enquiries and orders.

Although Covid meant you have to pre book your swim sessions the outdoor pool area is amazing, the water warm and the area cleaned frequently between sessions so we felt completely Covid safe. This goes for all the shower and toilet facilities too. I would recommend you make sure you are at reception for 10am to get a spot as swimming pool bookings fill up quickly especially when it is so busy. 

This year the food was so much better than in the past and ordering both food and drink on the app much easier and really convenient. Instead of dining there once during our stay ( as we have done in previous years) we must have eaten at the restaurant 5/6 times. I think over the three weeks I tried most things on the menu and highly recommend the chicken burger. 

Overall the campsite was much much busier than we had previously experienced but it didn’t affect the relaxed atmosphere. As for the person writing the review below who walks their dog listening into peoples tents; I never heard a thing. 

In replacing the fibre glass statues with the lovely planting and the development of the rotunda and barn, this venue is beginning to really make the most of the magnificent coastline it  is situated on. We can’t get enough of the location. 

If you are visiting as a family we highly recommend a trip to Watermouth Castle and the Dino park especially for little kids, hiring or taking a paddle from the site  to Berrynarbor beach and a day trip to Woolacombe. 

We are saddened to hear that this campsite is changing direction towards an events venue and we are going to miss our touring caravan holidays here but we wish Watermouth Cove every success and thank you for all the wonderful memories we have been able to create through our visits and time spent here.

I’m going to miss this place!

Thanks to Jim, Zoe and the team for a magical 6 night camping stay enjoyed by myself and my toddler son. Fabulous location and facilities, as always. Spotlessly   clean toilets and showers cleaned three times a day. I felt totally comfortable camping as a single parent. Covid restrictions reasonably, pragmatically and fairly applied by the team. Bar area and food lovely too and reasonably priced. Above all, thanks to the “man” Jim for your genuine kindness and  in turn creating memories that will last a lifetime for my son and I.
