Let’s start with the plus the location of the hotel Is in a very attractive part of Brighton/hove however We found the cleanliness very poor and to add insult to injury we were accused of stealing a picture in the hall  just before we were due to leave.

Myself and four friends travelled here in two rooms

Basic and suited for purpose if you're not planning on spending too much time in there, the room we had was larger than expected based on past reviews. The decor isn't perfect and quite scruffy in places but as we were doing a lot of sightseeing it wasn't a problem. There is a nice takeaway directly opposite. The main issue is the parking, so be prepared to pay more than expected as every road nearby is parking for permit holders only. 

Basic but well situated

Basic but clean and tidy the only issue is room was on 4th floor and stairs are narrow and steep. Staff were friendly and helpful it's a long walk from the main pier to this B&B. Booked via booking.com so room is just reserved with a debit or credit card you pay the night before or on arrival.

Stay at Litchfield house

Never had I ever stayed somewhere so bad, and it actually wasn't what I would call "cheap". This hotel should be removed from booking.com and other sites as it's not a hotel at all.

It's a house where they charge extortionate weekend rates for rooms no bigger than a shoe box and bathrooms where if you are slightly overweight there is no chance you could fit in the shower. 

The rooms have mould on the walls and plugs are dangerously wired. The furniture is bad but you do get a kettle but don't expect a plug socket near. 

If you wanted to complain at reception, you can't because there isn't one. A mobile number is just written by the main door. 

This really is shocking... 

Zero star rating 

Room smelt terrible as there was mould underneath the door frames. Massive pile of what looked like sawdust underneath the fireplace and suspect hairs left on the bed. Also overheard staff member mention to a guy who was fixing the buzzer, that if he couldn't fix it he would leave the front door open all night. Not impressed at all, probably worst hotel ever stepped foot in. Avoid at all costs.

A complete disaster

Very welcoming managers. Hotel basic but quirky. Old Regency building with expected problems. Leak in bathroom which is a very small room. Stained carpet in bedroom but spacious room with a comfortable double bed. Free wi fi. Great location for shops, cafes and bars. Seafront at bottom of road and easy walk into town centre. Parking however an absolute nightmare. £3 for 2 hours. Free after 6pm until 9am.     Brighton is a great place to stay however which compensates for a non luxurious accommodation.
