We Stayed A couple of nights in a ground floor family room which was comfortable and clean with a good unsuite shower.There was a fridge, microwave,Tv and Free Wi-Fi . Adequate wardrobe and drawer space a kingside double bed with two other singles, two armchairs, table and 4 chairs and plenty of space in the room. Good value for price charged. £130.

Staying at Acorn Lodge

This place is somewhere to stay well clear of  -- Score should be a minus 10 !
Firstly he wanted to have my Passport -- No bloody way !
Secondly he wanted my drivers license -- No bloody way !
Thirdly demanded 20 Pound deposit on the key which he would return in three days because he doesn't trust people -- I said he WILL  return the twenty pound when I return the key -- because I DON'T  trust you !! (it was given in Cash and very reluctantly returned when I left)  The state of maintenance   in the room was so low - see pictures but I was stuck because I had paid room on line ! 
 DO NOT STAY HERE EVEN IF IT IS A COMPLETE EMERGENCY.STAY YOUR CAR OR STAYB SOMEWHERE ELSE. IT SEEMS UNSAFE AND FULL OF ILLEGAL THINGS
The person running this place said they were from Ukraine - if this is the normal Ukraine people send them back to war

STAY CLEAR  The worst  place I have ever stayed in 60 years ! - STAY CLEAR

If you can't find anywhere to stay then go home don't stay here. The room was 8 foot square. The shower was a shared up on a different level. The toilet again shared with hotel. Was down a corridor down stairs. It looked like a knocking shop where sailors would bring back a lady for the night. Or a hmo. Definately not a hotel. Nor a bed and breakfast. I. Surprised the premises met basic legal requirements. Avoid avoid avoid

Avoid at all costs

I stayed here for 4 nights with my two young children. We received a really warm welcome and speedy check in process. The room was a spacious family room with a comfortable double and single bed, dining table and chair, kettle with tea and coffee. The bathroom was a good size with powerful shower, all areas were very clean. The location was ideal, a 5 minute walk to Morrison (for breakfast) and a 10 minute walk to the gosport ferry terminal. The team here are friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. A couple of nights there were some noisy guests but they did respectfully turn their music off when asked to turn it down. We had a nice stay here, we knew that there would be no dining facilities so we just kept a little stock of snacks.

Ideal location, clean and comfortable stay.

Only giving one star but would give less because it was dingy, dark smelled of vape and smoke and the showers stank and the everything was terrible. DO NOT STAY HERE EVEN IF IT IS A COMPLETE EMERGENCY.STAY  YOUR CAR OR STAYB SOMEWHERE ELSE. IT SEEMS UNSAFE AND FULL OF ILLEGAL THINGS ANYWAY. Lots of other review sites have positive reviews but I believe them to be fake. It is horrific. SO SO BAD. We only came because our ferry company booked us in having messed up the boat they put us on and it would have been better if they had done quite literally anything else. DARK DINGY AND HORRIFIC me and my family recommend wholeheartedly that you don’t come here so it goes bankrupt so that no one has to suffer what we did.

COULD NOT BE WORSE

Definately a DSS dosshouse..looked scruffy from the front but it was late and semi dark when we arrived. The girl on the reception was pleasant and the room was quite nice. The big problem was the room above us..the telly was blasting out constantly..shopping channel i think..2am..3am..4am..5am..6am..i had banged on the ceiling but there was no body in reception to help. We had to get up at 6am and it was still blaring out. The girl in reception at 6am said best not to bother him.!!..DONT STOP HERE UNLESS ITS A DIRE EMERGENCY..worst nights sleep of my life..

The worst hotel experience of my life...and thats saying summat

My daughter and I came down for one night. Acorn lodge was two minutes from the venue we were visiting, and at a reasonable price. We knew they didn't provide breakfast. We were given a room, that was above the navigation entrance, and looked out over the car park and the street at the back of the building. No parking in Spring Garden Lane itself, and you have to drive around the block to find the car park, which is a bit tight, and doesn't have that many spaces. The room itself was large, with two 3ft beds pushed together as a spacious double, plus a single bed. Bedding was clean, but with a couple of small stains. The towels were clean and soft and arranged into 'elephants'!
The shower room was small but very clean. Not long been refurbished by the looks of it. Only two hooks on the inside of the door for towels and not much shelf space, but it was fine. Basic small wardrobe and chest of drawers, with a couple of door drawer knobs loose or missing, plus a chair, and a very dusty fan.
We didn't use the TV, but noticed the remote hadn't been cleaned. Tea and coffee were on a tray in the top drawer, and the kettle was hidden behind the TV. It was a bit precarious making a hot drink, as the kettle's too big for the sink, and everything has to be done right beside the TV.
Reception is very depressing when you first arrive - it still smells vaguely of old people, and the reception itself has no natural light, just a stark strip light. Not welcoming. Couldn't understand the last on reception very well, but she was friendly enough. No lift, as I could see, and pretty steep stairs.
All in all, basic accommodation, for a basic price. I would stay again, only if I could have the same room

Basic, but adequate

Location was good for our purpose to visit our relatives, and near to a supermarket. Onsite parking was available at the back. Our family room was clean and spacious, but bathroom was rather tight. Hot shower worked fine. We were unfortunate to have another guest upstairs who was quarrelling and shouting vulgarities intermittently throughout the night (yes, we could hear his every word). The landlord was nice and understanding to have a word with that guest and our 2nd night passed uneventfully. Might consider a return visit.

A passable stay

This is a budget hotel close to what shops are available in gosport and the ferry. It has been given some pretty harsh reviews I feel, the fact that we paid around £20 a head a night it had everything we needed, comfy and clean bedding and a brew, I can't really complain. 

Basic but good

this was a last minute booking and was close to where we needed to be location wise on the very tip of Gosport town and only a 10min walk to the ferry which takes you over to Portsmouth. on arrival as entering the property there was a bad smell of drains and home made curries which was overpowering and in time we were to be chewing on the smell as it got stronger and stronger we were given our room which was two very large twins pushed together infront of the very large window which to draw the curtains you had to stand on the bed[ feat in itself] the room was clean but very, very basic and as it was for one night only we made the most of it. on arriving back after our night out the smell was unbearable and I slept with my scarf round my face all night the bed was comfy although we were at opposite ends of the room [HUGE BED] a good nights sleep was not had we woke very early and promptly left GET ME OUT OF HERE
