Didnt receive enough instruction to find this place in the dark. Key drop box difficult to open once we did find it.Bed not comfortable. Lumpy mattress springs sticking in me.Towels were very clean but very rough and no shower Gel supplied which when youve arrived late from a flight and your toiletries are  packed is not ideal, for the price i would have expected better..

A little disappointing..

Very clean and tidy and perfect for that overnight stay prior to early morning flight (5 minute stroll to airport)

No staff on hand to ask . No drinking glasses in room.room very small no room for cases or a chair.

It needs a large sign on the house to make it easy to find

Perfect location to take the worry out of an early flight or late arrival back to Exeter. Only a couple of minutes walk to the terminal.
Easy to get to by public transport, we'd got the train to St Davids, then the bus from outside the station which stops right outside the terminal. The only downside, if you have no transport there isn't anywhere near to eat.
The room is comfy with everything you need for a night, very quiet too.
Would definitely stay here again if flying from Exeter.

No frills but Ideal for an early flight

Really good check in procedure after a very late flight. 2mins walk from the airport next to their excellent parking service and a nice clean and airy room. Comfy bed and even with the window open the road noise wasn’t too bad and certainly didn’t stop me sleeping.

Good place to stay for late flight

Getting the code for our key seemed a mission but it could have been a hotels.com issue and not Fair Oaks.Our room (7) was small especially with big suitcases but it was nice, traffic noise wasn't great from the road outside but we aren't used to it which probably made it worse.We were woken up at 0300 by a loud noise that sounded like water pressure in the house which wasn't great and overall didn't sleep that well with an early flight out to Majorca.Very random but the towels in the room were awful and felt so coarse to use, overall an ok stay which was chosen because the Hilton didn't have availability which was a shame.

An ok stay

Clean, comfortable, good value and very convenient for Exeter Airport.  Probably two minutes walk from airport and parking on the doorstep. The property is in fact set within a car park but we had no noise overnight at all. The mattress is very comfortable and everything was very clean with tea, coffee and milk sachets provided.  Adjustable heaters, large tv.  No toiletries only a small soap. 

TRAVELLER top tips: bring food with you as there is no breakfast supplied (or eat in airport cafe that is past the security area) and unless you have a car you cannot get an evening meal.

POINTS for PROPRIETOR to consider.  A very efficient gentleman is at the end of the mobile phone - I missed seeing the key box code on the invoice that is emailed to you the day before. (Code is on the left-hand side halfway down the page). Perhaps the manager would be very thoughtful and provide a suitcase rack or two in the room.  It is difficult to have to keep going to floor level to pull things out of the suitcase, and I’m sure they wouldn’t want the sofa constantly used as a suitcase rack.  The sofa is the only place for Guests to sit and watch TV.   Some coat hangers would also be welcome too - there is a small rack of 4 coat hooks in the room.  Also a plastic chair or stool for the large wet room (we stayed in room 1) to put a bathroom bag on.   I do think a shower curtain would be a good idea, there is a rail with hooks ready for one.  It would stop water splashing over any bathroom bags which at the moment have to sit either on the floor or the top of the loo as there’s nowhere to put them. For what we paid and what we got it was very reasonable, I was highly recommend it with the couple of improvements mentioned above could make it very good indeed. If the owner wanted a side line, I’m sure providing,for a tariff, a pre ordered breakfast box and/or supper box with pre-packed items it could be most welcome. We travelled on foot as we were dropped off in the car park of the night before.   Sometimes you have to reinforce the obvious.  A big sign on the front of the house, saying it is ‘Fair Oak House’ would be a very good idea with an arrow, pointing to where the entrance door is would be helpful, especially if it’s dark and raining! We have, in fact, I stayed here before many years ago, but to the new arrival with so much in the area, such as car hire, signs, barriers, entrances, a nice big clear sign on the front of the house and side facing the road would be a very good idea. 
Don’t be alarmed if the entrance car park barrier next to the house entrance area itself is down as it is all recorded, they can tell the difference between someone being dropped off and someone trying to sneak in for free parking as it is in an ANPR barrier.  Tons of car parking.

Convenient, clean and comfortable.

Very convenient for the airport. Would of appreciated a light at the front door, so I could see the numbers on the key safe to get my key.

Review

Didn’t actually get to stay at the property as we turned up at 10pm and realised it’s just a private flat, no obviously signs / way to check in. We didn’t have check-in details, apparently it was on the invoice which was not obviously apparent when first received and then there’s no signal in the area to even check the invoice for said code. There were no sign of key boxes, no info on what room in the building we were meant to be staying in. After doing laps of the building and annoying a local resident who also lived in the building (as we accidentally walked into his private property) we decided to cut our losses and walk 20 mins in the pitch black to a Hilton near by & spend an additional £105, getting there at nearly 11pm. I’d avoid this property like the plague, yes seems like a great spot to be close to the car hire but it’s not worth the stress and tears. I can see from other reviews (wish I read them ahead of time) that people have experienced issues just like mine before, so I really have no idea why the owner doesn’t look into rectifying it!
