We stayed in the Classic Guest House for Christmas Day 2021. It was incredible. The really beautifully personal touches made the day something really special. We have an extended patchwork family and everyone felt so
Welcome and included. The hosts were so thoughtful in everything they did. From ensuring we sure there early to experience the whole Christmas experience: for homemade Swiss bread and roast ham; gift giving with their own families; getting comfy in matching Oodies. All the things that made it such a personally special experience.

To add to that, the hosts kids were so incredibly welcoming and accommodating of our little toddler. She can be pretty demanding, but they really took the time to include them in everything. She loves them so much and cannot wait to visit again. 

The food was prepared by another guest and was spectacularly good, and the host complimented that with excellent drink pairing. The meal was prefaced by the most touching toast from a very special family member of the hosts. It brought a little tear to my eye.  We ate and drank far too much, but there was little we could do to resist such incredible festive catering! 

After dinner, we were invited to join in some jokes. Not all of them great, but that was part of the charm. As the evening got later, we had some really lovely conversations and we felt we had genuinely met some new life long friends in the other guests. 

The night ended with music and laughter,  as we helped build a drum kit and battered away on it whilst telling funny stories. 

Such nights are what life is all about, and I cannot thank the hosts, guests and everyone there enough for making Christmas 2021 an incredibly special one. 

5 stars, will visit again. ❤️

Best Christmas ever!

Me and my husband stayed here for our anniversary and it was lovely staff are fantastic, it quite, had a great night sleep, definitely would come again, fantastic atmosphere, just a lovely place 🥰 thank you

Fantastic

We have just come back from a four night stay here and everything was superb.
The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Emad advised us on everything we could ever need to know, from local eateries, which we tried two of and both were excellent to bus routes into town, which we used every day, its an ideal location to visit Edinburgh. We had a free parking permit, which enabled us to park outside. The breakfast was amazing, with a huge choice of continental, served buffet style to suit everyone's tastes. There was loads on offer, with an amazing variety of fresh fruits. 
The guest house was very clean and welcoming. Our room no. 3 was adequately sized with an ensuite shower room, all in working order and very clean. 
The bed was ultra soft and comfy, which under normal circumstances would have been ideal but my boyfriend is suffering with his back so not ideal but I loved it, the bedding and pillows were super snug and very clean. We had towel changes every day.

Extremely Welcoming Place to Stay

Easy to find, and parking was excellent. We had room 4 which was lovely, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The room was clean and spacious, and not at all tatty. 

It is so near the city centre that we walked home after the Fringe, a total bonus. 

The breakfast was lovely and there was lots of choice. 

The owners and staff are welcoming and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Pleasant and Welcoming Stay

The room and breakfast was very nice, the owners had a great knowledge about the area and informed us about the best way to get around Edinburgh, the best places to go to and the best places to eat. When we go back to Edinburgh, we will definitely stay here again.

Brilliant Place

Lovely place, great location.  Rooms were very clean, roomy and well appointed.  The host was pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating.  The breakfast was delicious.  I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Classic Guest House is easy to find in a quiet residential area of Edinburgh just out of the centre. Short walk or bus to city. Lots of quality restaurants within walking distance. There is plenty of free parking on the street. The owners are welcoming, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The house was very clean and well looked after. Room was quiet, en suite and had tea and coffee making facilities. Great views to Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crags from the room. We arrived early to go to a music festival and there was no issue with checking in before the room was ready. Breakfast was a refreshing change from full Scottish/Irish/English...lovely pot of coffee and great buffet including juices, cereals, toast, pancakes, eggs, meats, cheeses, lots of fruit and yoghurt. Gluten free was catered for. Perfect place to stay for visiting Edinburgh and much better value than the ridiculously priced hotels in Edinburgh which can seem more expensive than London.

A classic guest house

Stayed for the weekend with my friends and was greeted by very friendly hosts. The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was also clean and equipped with all mini toiletries. The breakfast had a fantastic selection of fresh fruit every morning and various other continental choices. Fantastic stay and will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic B&B

Stayed here with 2 friends for the weekend. Room was nice and clean, it was a very good size also.
The owners were lovely, they couldn't be any nicer intact.
Breakfast was always fresh and a good selection.

Would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Great stay

Not only the basics were fine: good beds, good shower, very clean and characteristic rooms. Very quiet also, no noise whatsoever from the other rooms. We enjoyed the very very nice breakfast, including many fresh fruits and great yooghurt of dsifferent kinds. Plenty of choice in all aspects. But the cherry on the cake was the very genuine and friendly way we we "served" by the landlord. No effort was too much, all of our questiosn were answered, he gave good hints on where to eat in the neighbourhood. And he knew how to keep the right distance, otherwise I keep on talking. My guess is that he had a training as a butler. Thanks for making us feel at home.
