The bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern. The room was clean and functional. One could make tea, coffee, or expresso in the room at no extra cost. The security in the guest house was excellent. The receptionist was quite welcoming and informative. He showed us to our rooms and demonstrated how the security worked. The guest house was very quiet.

Inexpensive But Clean and Secure

Arrived early but room was ready. Two night stay . Manager Bash offered to help carry our bags to room . The room itself was bright , spacious, comfortable and spotless. The room only option suited us . Parking is on a first come basis we were accommodated. A short walk into Chester town centre. Plenty of eateries nearby. We like Frodsham Grill. Will definitely be using the Ormonde again . Thanks to Bash and all the staff for a great experience.

Chester Doorstep Room

Amazing room we were in. Very helpful and friendly man called Saiied who greeted us couldn’t be more helpful and welcoming. Absolutely spotless and super comfy bed. Couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommended.  Nothing too much trouble . Thank you very much

Absolutely spotless stylish room

Staff were courteous and helpful and the room had everything I needed. Even though on a road, the room was quiet. I enjoyed the coffee pods. The shower was good and the bed was comfortable. It is near the city centre and shops. It is a budget hotel, not a 5 star hotel but I think it is still great value for money, hence giving it 5 stars. Thank you for your hospitality.  

Great budget hotel

We had a one night stay and couldn't complain about anything. The staff were extremely friendly we had the deluxe double room with a full kitchen area. It was very clean and extremely comfortable and excellent value.

One night stay

I was a little apprehensive booking the Ormonde at first, but it turns out there was nothing to worry about at all. I was pleasantly greeted on arrival, my room was cosy and warm, it was clean and smelt fresh and is located in the heart of Chester. I will certainly look to stay here again when I’m next in Chester.

A short stay

This hotel was more than we expected. Very warm and inviting. The gentleman who booked us in was very polite, friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, plenty of tea and coffee available and lovely fresh towels. Plenty of hot water. Couldn’t really fault it. 5 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Will definitely stay there again.

Impressed

Very clean and comfortable.  Went for a weekend break with friends.  Ideally located for walk into Chester City Centre.  Chester itself is fabulous for culture and atmosphere.  Would recommend the Ormonde.  Bosh was waiting for us when we arrived and sorted parking for us.  Would recommend and definitely stay here again.

All you need for a weekend break

Staying at The Ormonde for two nights for the races! 

There is an unusual care home type smell on entering the reception area but it is clean and tidy. A friendly greeting from staff and stress free check-in.  

Staying in room no 1. The bedroom and bathroom are very clean but dated. The carpet could do with updating and the bathroom is tiny. We have been put in a bedroom that is directly facing the main road! It is ridiculously noisy and exceptionally hot! An open window is a must, however, it is on a VERY  busy main road and even with ear plugs in, it is impossible to sleep. There is only a blind on the window and leaving that open just a tiny bit for some air, let’s far too much light in from outside and the lights reflect off the mirror on the back of the bedroom door.

The beds are small but comfy. Only one pillow is provided making it even harder to sleep if you are used to two pillows. There are two towels provided for the bathroom but  no bar of soap. The smell of the hand gel and shower gel isn’t particularly nice. 

The accommodation is only a few minutes from the train station and a 10 minute walk to shops and bars. Around 15 minutes to the racecourse. 

It isn’t a terrible place to stay but I could’t stay in this room again! The heat and the noise from the road is dreadful!

Too noisy and hot!

Lovely friendly welcome, clean, comfortable bed, great location, easy access to room, nothing was to much trouble, a 2 minute walk from the railway station and not far from the city centre, would definitely stay again, good price as well
