On arrival the bar staff took us upto the room to check that we were OK with staying! At 45 quid  l3ss than an uber train or taxi I couldn't care less!!!! The locals that went to th3 pub were absolutely  lovely, welcoming and gave loads of tips on Cheltenham! My advise is if you want 5 star accommodation then it's wrong for you however if you want a family friendly happy local that welcomes you then go see them! Yes it's not the ritz! Not even a travel lodge! BUT everyone was lovely  it was totally  safe! Couldn't care less that we had no window because the drinks were half the price of the city!!!! If you want a cheap friendly  rest your head, next to the station pub then this is it!!!! We wanna come back and party with u all xx

My third stay at the Midland. It’s cheap and you get what you pay for. For myself and my mates, we just need a bed for the night after an all day session and this place does the job. It’s not the most salubrious of venues but the owners and the locals that use the downstairs bar are friendly and accommodating. If you find yourself in Cheltenham with the lads and you want a cheap place to lay your head - stay at the Midland.

The Midland Hotel is more than just a hotel it’s also a friendly and welcoming pub. I’m not the kind of person who goes out to the pub but I do love going to The Midland. They have a nice room to the one side where there is a pool table and dart board which I love to have a game of pool with friends and family and enjoy a nice drink.

The staff are really nice and friendly and very welcoming.

Would throughly recommend. Can’t comment on accommodation as I’ve never stayed and have no need to as it’s local to me.

Anyone reading this review should consider that the price for a Saturday night stay here in a single room with a shared bathroom cost £25.00.  £25.00 doesn't get you a decent Dominoes order these days and anyone complaining about anything at this pub needs to have a bit of a reality check as to what even Travelodge might charge for the same thing. 

Anyway, The Midland is a pub over the road from the train station. It's about 15 minutes on foot to the town center and a nine-iron away from The DEYA Brewery and Taproom which was the reason I was here. Downstairs is basically a proper old boozer and the rest is given over to a variety of rooms. I had Room 12 on the top floor, a room comically small with virtually nothing in it baring a bed. It was clean and comfortable and I could sleep in it so it did everything required. There was a 'window' but it didn't open so I'm not sure I'd want to be trapped up there in the summer but I could park my car in relative safety, go and drink beer in DEYA and stumble back without feeling my life was in danger. It was £25.00. The bathroom was shared and knackered but it was clean enough. I didn't use the shower but it looked like it'd work and I'm sure I'd come out cleaner than I went in. It was £25.00. 

You want something to impress the wife or something then pay the money required. For the cost there really is nothing wrong with this place at all.

I have stayed here a few times now after a day around the pubs of  Cheltenham, its never going to be the place you take your other half for a treat or a stop off with the kids and if you read the reviews and still opt to stay there more fool you. It is what it is, a cheap bed for the night and it satisfies this criteria perfectly. Don't expect a lot other than a bed for the night walking distance from the pubs in Cheltenham. Don't expect freshly painted doors and nice spotless carpets. Don't expect much to really work or even the toilet roll to be there (take your own) a bed for the night while your pist is all it is and it nails it!) staff and locals friendly

The place is very run down, but to her credit, the manageress seems to be ding her best to turn the place around.
Bedrooms very basic, pillows like a Frizzby.
The pub downstairs was okay, drinks quite expensive for the surroundings.
But for £55 for a room for 3 people what do you expect.

Good laugh and an experience

Tell you what … I was gonna give this place 2 stars and then I remembered that some friends have stayed in the hotel without issues or complaints and found it incredibly convenient.
It’s handy for a quick game of pool and an affordable pint before catching a train or while waiting for one to arrive. However, its drink selection is about as standard as it gets and the whole atmosphere is very bland, drab and rundown.

A very tired but conveniently-located pub

This was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. The staff were rude. The sheets obviously had not been washed. I was concerned about catching a disease or bed bugs. Don’t bother the cheap prices are not worth the health hazard. There was one bathroom between about 15 rooms. It had no toilet paper. If I was staying longer than 1 night I would have found somewhere else to stay. Truly disgusting. The beds are falling apart. The bedding is dirty. Even a dog wouldn’t stay there

Outrageous, filthy, grim, depressing, I asked for a refund immediately. I could not stay there with my beautiful son. He was terrified. Outside there were people I wasn't comfortable with drinking and drugging. I am stunned that it's on hotels.com lasked for a refund before seeing the room. Then when they said no, tried to make it work, tried to be open minded. I was taken to a stinking tiny room with two filthy mismatched beds in it. A window that over hung the patio ( using that word loosely ) where people were doing goodness knows what below you. There was a shared squalid toilet and shower room. No 's from us. We sneaked out of the side door after having to battled our way out of it. It was jammed. And our room door looked like it had been broken into many times. The boy who showed us our room was nice enough. I tried to sit on the bed to collect my thoughts and was struck in the back by a beam the mattress was so thin. Was trying to be bright and cheery for my sons sake but I couldn't do it But you could tell that poor employee was used to dealing with disgruntled guests is a massive part of his job. " call head office, call management" he in toned.
Nah you do NOT rob people by offering this hell hole to unsuspecting travellers.
We decamped were even prepared to sleep in the car if we had to

Drug Den Hell hole

I didn't stay here but popped in for a pint. What a dirty vile place. Seats  ripped and filthy. This place is a hovel. Locals obviously welcome but anyone else seem to get treated differently. My pint was served to me so staff could get back to the regulars and chat, no chat no atmosphere no nothing. Wouldn't recommend this place its filthy, toilets rank. Avoid at all costs.

Give the Midland a BIG MISS 

After checking in it was clear that pic on booking.com are fake. Dirty bedsheets,broken bed,tissues left by prev. occupiers, unknown fluid on the wall and bird fierce on the window. Totally not worth £60 and left this place within 30mins. Will ask for refund as this is a joke and a day that I should celebrate as my birthday turned out to be ruined at the start. Only plus is that a manager told me how to get a refund. Not recommended.
