Had a meal there with my husband. My curry was nice, but my husbands steak pie was full of gristle, connective tissue and veins. He knows this because  he is a retired butcher. Unfortunately  the man who served us seemed totally uninterested.

Disappointing

We had an absolutely superb meal here. Food is exceptional. Salmon was perfect and burger was incredible- the peppercorn sauce was to die for. Well done to the chef/s - best meal we have ever had! We would reccomend to anyone and only a short walk if you are staying in Betws-y-coed.

Went for a romantic meal. Atmosphere is so nice. Food was exceptional. Staff were funny and professional. Had such a great night and can't stop thinking about their fresh trout! Menu has a huge selection. Next time we will try and book a room. We will be be back :-)

Everything you could want from a restaurant, perfection!

Superb break at the Ty Gwyn. The staff are super friendly and cannot do enough for you. The place is spotless and the restaurant is to die for. Top quality dining at a really reasonable price.

This place is a little gem. Small but comfortable rooms, lovely staff. I must mention Hilary and Lisa and also Martin . The absolute winner is the menu! The food is the best we have had, during our stay we had Lobster bisque and scallops for starters and fish gratin and wild sea bass Thermidor to name just a few winners. The cheesecake dessert was heavenly so enormous thanks to the kitchen staff who are clearly very talented. Just a short walk into betws y coed and a pleasant hours walk to the spectacular Swallow falls. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Fabulous weekend

This is a great hotel on the outskirts of Betwys y Coed., everything is within walking distance.

Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and excellent meals at a reasonable price.

Ideal location for touring Snowdonia.

Would definitely stay again.

Lovely Hotel

Booked this place because the menu looked great and lived up to it , fabulous food and very reasonably priced,very friendly place ,rooms were lovely and comfortable,great location ,everything was excellent.

Fabulous

Ty Gwyn feels welcoming the second you step in the door. Its a very old building with décor to suit. It has been owned by the same family for many years and they work hard to make sure guests are well looked after. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and made time to chat even though they were busy. We stayed for 2 nights and our room was spotlessly clean with some lovely old furniture - a real delight! We ate in the restaurant both nights and the selection on the menu is amazing and the food was so lovely both nights! The cooked breakfast was also delicious and very filling (I have a big appetite!), with different options to chose from.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ty Gwyn and highly recommend this little gem, just a short walk from the middle of Betws-y-Coed. We look forward to going back again for another break away in the future! Thank you to all who made our stay such an enjoyable one!



Ty Gwyn is a little Gem in Betsw-y-Coed!

We enjoyed an evening meal from the extensive menu.  The food was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented.
The staff were very attentive and friendly.  
We also thought that the food and drinks were reasonably priced.
My only issue was we sat at a table for two which felt a bit small.  At times it was a balancing act with the plates and drinks.  This is a personal bug bear of mine as I find that it does detract from an otherwise very enjoyable experience. 
i appreciate that establishments have to try and balance comfort against the number of covers they can serve.

Delicious Food and Great Service

We visited this restaurant while staying in the area and so pleased we did. This is the most charming place and the staff were very welcoming. The food was exceptional and definitely the best in the area.
