Nothing but praise for this hostel and especially their lovely staff. I stayed at Bushpig in December 2023 for 3 nights in total. Their staff is amazing, super friendly and helpful - they were so kind to help me organize my trips around UG (they have a lot of contacts). Rooms are clean, lovely breakfast (lots of options) that is included in the price, they organize some fun activities and a bar-restaurant, free WiFi, a cute cat, fast laundry service, etc. etc. really good price-quality wise. 100% recommended. 

Great stay - amazing staff!

Really great atmosphere overall and especially at the restaurant/bar. The rooms were really lovely and clean and many had balconies. The food was some of the best we had in Kampala! The staff were really helpful and they had board games to play as well! 

Best hostel in Kampala

Great atmosphere and great breakfast. However, the best part of it all was the service of the friendly. I forgot some things in my room and the staff was so helpful to safe my items until my next return. Thank you for the help and see you soon 🙏🙏

Friendly professional service

I organized a sports event in Kampala and inquired to Bushpig about a group room rate for out of town players. The staff was extremely kind, flexible, and accommodating. We will definitely book with Bushpig  in the future! A big thanks to Gloria for all the help and answering our many questions!

Accommodating booking process

Very cool and clean hostel. I stayed in a double room with shared bathroom and enjoyed the balcony (make sure you ask for that in the booking), the welcoming staff and the fabulous location. The price is right and the rooms functional and sweetly decorated. 
The place is in the middle of one of Kampalas booming night life areas so things do get noisy from neighboring bars on the weekend. 
I will definitely stay here again! 

Central location and sweet rooms

All the staff were excellent here, Sam took us to the market after he finished his shift to show us around and make sure we weren't paying tourist prices. 

All the other staff were excellent, I also have to give a big shout out to the secruity staff as one night my friend got into a bit of a situation and the secruity staff were excellent in helping him, they also negotiated and helped us getting boda boda's so we weren't getting ripped of and had safe rides.

Helpfull staff, clean rooms and an excellent safe space in the craziness of Kampala

I'd recommend Bushpig to everybody, who is looking for budget hostel accommodation in a central location in Kampala. Well guarded and maintained with clean rooms and washing facilities. The best part for us was the super-friendly and helpful staff, who made our stay as good as it could be <3

Made our stay in Kampala formidable!

10/10 for everything in Bushpig. The location, the cleanliness, the security, the food, but in particularly, the most amazing staff! 

I've stayed in Bushpig a few times in the last few years with my last time as a long stay  and I've loved it each time. Large sized, very clean room and bathroom and always hot showers! 
They have excellent entertainment from Tuesday night quiz to Saturday night chilled live music, even a great selection of board games!

Every single member of staff from the front desk girls, to the bar, the household and the security are extremely friendly, helpful and they all genuinely go above and beyond for people. 
It really is like home away from home. It's the only place I would stay and can't wait to go back.  
I can't recommend them highly enough.. superb!

My favourite place in Kampala!

A very chilled place to stay. The rooms are clean and tidy. The bathrooms, both shared and ensuite, are well maintained and clean. The food was great and the beer cold! Highly recommended as a place to stay in Kampala.

Super friendly and safe place to stay in Kampala

This was a fantastic hostel! I particularly appreciated the staff.  Whenever I had a problem, they were right there and very helpful (they helped me get rides on motorcycles; they helped me with my adapter; they even helped me with something on my computer). What they did was definitely above and beyond the call of duty. I also really liked the restaurant. Normally, I don't go to many restaurants, but this one had excellent food at very good prices and the waiters and the customer service was great. It's also where we ate breakfast and it was a very filling and tasty breakfast. They even give you about five or more options to choose from. Overall, I was very pleased with Bushpig. The next time I return too Kampala, I'll definitely stay there.
