Very conveniently located in the heart of Kampala. Excellent breakfast buffet each morning. The rooms are alway clean. Edith does a great job. The staff are professional. The hotel manager , Enoch, ensured my stay was enjoyable. During the week a sumptuous lunch buffet us served at 25k includive of a soft drink . I cannot fault Holiday Express. Faboulous place to relax. I was even offered a courtesy dinner one evening by the owner the hotel.... ( Mr Peter Bibangamba ) a true gentleman. I sincerely commend Holiday Express Hotel for making my trip enjoyable. 

Great place to relax

Enjoyed my stay but next time I'll stay at the side not facing the market, it gets noisy outside early morning as they start bringing in the vegetables.its clean great customer service who are very patient.

Great service

Lovely and clean the staff are fantastic they are so helpful. Breakfast was nice and all together value for money.the hotel is situated in the heart of town centre but was quite at night .it's a short walk from the train station ideal for all ages .

Holiday express Wakefield

My wife and I stayed 4 nights arriving at 1 PM by Chandia Richard's taxi transfer($50) from Jinja (arranged by Source of the Smile Guesthouse in Jinja). 
A doorman took our bags up the side entrance to the spacious 1st floor reception.  Here, our passports were copied  and a porter escorted us to the single elevator and up to the 3rd floor. Our marble floored newly furnished #316 had a comfortable king with 2 nightstands, desk and chair, wall TV (CNN and current movies), large closet and bathroom with soap and older stall shower. The secure WIFI was intermittent but the quiet AC was strong.
The 6:30 AM serviced breakfast, in the restaurant off the lobby, was complete with several fresh fruits, fruit juice, boiled or scrambled eggs, toast, coffee with hot milk, and cereal with cold milk. The restaurant was open, but mostly unused, until 11 p.m.
This hotel is located on the northeast side of the busy market area catering to local business people during the week, with the Sunday street market just outside. We walked 230 meters northeast to Cafe Javas, 450 meters north to the Java House, 600 meters northeast to Independence Monument, 400 meters southwest to Mega Standard Supermarket and 500 meters south to Shoprite Clock Tower. The hotel arranged 2 morning taxi tours($25+$16) to the city's tourist sights.
This older 100 room property is clean, with rooms serviced daily, is quiet (if room is in the back), with a friendly staff, and has a central location, offering  decent value at $88/night.

Nice established hotel in busy central Kampala.

Pretty low class hotel. Even for my "non high maintenance" standards.  Sheets and towels were dingy, stuff on wall was broken.  Access was difficult --location because of traffic was nightmare. Really need to think twice before heading here to see if you can afford something a little bit more expensive. The good news is/was the staff is very responsive and eager to please. My second reservation did not come through from Hotels.com so that could have happened smoother.

Low class hotel, pretty low class.

Clean rooms, enough room for those who prefer to travel large...the breakfast is the best part, they offer a variety of options to pick from. 
Their WiFi also needs some work and the TV sets are so outdated and only offer a limited number of channels. 

Big on breakfast

The hotel is located right in the center of town and the noise in the morning and during the day can be disturbing.It is a nice hotel for transit only.The staff were very helpful.

Average hotel

As someone has mentioned, Julius is indeed very welcoming and always with a big smile on his face. 

The room is ok though very basic. I like the big bed. 

Only wish you could add more items to the breakfast buffet even it means charging a little extra.

I chose this because it's a walking distance to where I was having meetings (EADB).

There is nothing special that I remember about this hotel but what made me so much disappointed with the stay that there was problem with shower . No Hot water, also no hot water coming in the shank. There was drainage problem in my wash room. I paid for 3 nights in advance but every next day my room key stop working for which I need to request them to send someone to my room for which I had to wait a long many times just kept staying outside my room. Horrible stay.

There had no reservations made. I do not like what happened. Do you know what it is like to be in a strange place and no room at 10pm
