I stayed at the Era for 2 weeks last month, and as usual had a wonderful time meeting up with friends again after a 2 year break due to covid.

Sadly we said goodbye to Ergun and Raziye this time who have retired after many years of hard work, and giving their guests the best holiday experience that you could wish for.  I wish them a happy, healthy retirement. 

The new owners are very friendly and fun, but have less experience in running a hotel, and are learning English, but nevertheless managed to give us all a memorable holiday!

There were some teething issues with our rooms being cleaned regularly, but I'm sure this will have been addressed by the time I return.

Apart from that, the food was as ever fantastic (thank you Ali), the hospitality was amazing, and overall a beautiful place to stay and have a very laid back, relaxing holiday.

Another fabulous holiday at Hotel Era!

Please be aware that sadly the Era has new owners/management who have no clue how to run a hotel or look after their guests. My experience last week was so bad my friend and I were forced to leave 4 days early and move to another hotel.  We were treated appalling by the new owner and were given no choice but to leave early.

Sadly not the same experience anymore.

3 years ago I ventured into the world of singles holiday's.  I came to the Era and felt immediately welcome by the other guests.  I made a lovely group of friends and have returned here every year since. I/we are here at the moment.  Ergan, the owner, his wife and staff cannot do enough for you.  The all inclusive food and drinks are superb.  Breakfast and lunch basic, but ample.  The evening meal is always exceptional, mostly waiter service.  All guests eat together, so no one eats alone.  This is a very friendly hotel, so if you come here on your own and worried you may not make friends, don't be, you will be welcomed with open arms. The rooms are basic, but you have everything you need and very clean.  Any problems are usually sorted out very quickly, not that there are many. The pool is superb, very clean and their are enough sunbeds for everyone. Beach towels are provided. Olu Deniz at the coast is a cheap 20 min cab ride away. Hisanorou, the lively nearest small town is a 10 min walk away.  There are numerous bars, restaurants and shop's nearby, although the Hotel is in a quiet location.
All in all a superb hotel for single people, good value for money and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Best holiday ever

I've just returned from another wonderful holiday at the Era. This is my 3rd time staying here and it definately won't be my last!
I have previously booked through Friendship Travel but this year I booked it independently through the owner Ergun.
The Era is such a fabulous and friendly hotel and you will want for nothing.
Ergun and Raziye are such wonderful hosts and will make you so welcome and you will feel like part of the family. Ali the wonderful chef is also a credit to the Era with his lovely big smile and he makes the most delicious food. The rest of the staff are also lovely and nothing is ever too much trouble for anyone.
You will come here and feel relaxed and at home straight away and all your needs will be met. 
I have made the most amazing friends while staying here and we are planning on coming back every year together now.
If you feel a bit daunted travelling alone then this is the place to come as you are guaranteed to feel safe, welcome and you will definately make friends here.

Another wonderful holiday at the Era

The best hotel and fantastic hosts Ergun and Raziye. As a single traveller you will be looked after so well. I guarantee you will have a great time! Food was amazing. I cannot think of anything negative to say about this hotel. Give it a go you will love it.

Fantastic hotel

Just spent 17 days with Ergun and Raziye at the Era Hotel. This was only my 2nd time there (last was Sept 2016 for only a week) and i really didn't want to leave at the end of my stay. It really does feel like a home from home to me. All of the staff make you feel so welcome and at home, they will cater for your dietary needs if necessary and nothing is a chore to them. I hoped for the same room as last year and Ergun made sure i had it! Era seems to have broken away from Friendship Travel now so if you want to go alone you can book directly through Ergun to dates that suit you. It's an adult hotel and most of the time extremely peaceful. Still all inclusive with afternoon cake and fruit. Any drinks ordered after 10pm will be chargeable but it's minimal. Towels are provided for the pool and to be honest, you really don't need much more than that! I had the most wonderful time there and am now looking to go back in September! Thank you again Ergun and i'll see you soon! x

Didn't want to leave

First stayed here for two weeks in 2012 through Friendship Travel and met my now husband. As a couple we couldn't book with Friendship Travel  so we were delighted  when Ergun told us that the hotel would be open to independent guests as well as FT.   We had the same all inclusive deal as Friendship Travel guests, with transfers provided. The Era is open all season, even when it's not available to FT. Ergun and Raziye will welcome you and look after you as will their wonderful team of staff - all are friendly and put you at your ease. You arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.    The food is great (thanks chef Ali), the rooms are clean, beds comfy, plenty of hot water  and the pool is so inviting - plenty of sun loungers and parasols too!  



Fab Hotel Era Holiday 2017 - Booked Independently

I've been to the Era many times since 2010 with Friendship Travel and I love it. I wanted to go back this year as usual, but due to the downturn in tourism in Turkey, my usual direct Monday morning Thomas Cook flight has been cancelled (Thursdays only) so I couldn't fit into FT's Monday to Monday schedule. OK, I could have gone the long haul way through Gatwick or such like but didn't want the hassle of transfers and long waits at airports.
Luckily there was an alternative. This year the Era is open to independent guests as well as FT. Same all inclusive deal, transfers provided. And the Era is open all season, even when it's not available to FT. I'm going back in August, independent again. Quite apart from the flight thing, I couldn't get time off work to fit into FT'S dates.
So if there's anybody reading this who really,really wants to go back to the Era, singles, couples, (no kids) book independently. Ergun and Raziye will welcome you and look after you. You may or may not have the company of FT guests, either way it's all good.
P.S. I had a lovely holiday and am counting the days till the next one.

Just back from the Hotel Era, 2017

Because we booked late, the choice was limited. We looked at the reviews at the hotel and decided to come here. That was good. This hotel is small and friendly and a little outdated. The little balcony next to the rooms is just big enough for one person to sit there. But it's a relaxing oasis in the middle of discos and venues in the city. In the morning you only hear the tap. Around 10 o'clock the disco starts in the opposite hotel, but not to disturb us. Because the hotel is located in a cage (which is a bonus is the heat area), it's definitely cooler than in the city, with a very easy way to get out of the cage. I'm glad we did it, it's a small welcoming place, a little old-fashioned it's true, the balconies of the rooms are only big for one sitting person, but it's a small haven of peace in the crowds of discos and pubs around town. The only noise in the morning is the cock, then around 10am the hotel in front of the food starts putting music but it's not too annoying. The hotel is located on a hill, it's cooler at night than in the city, and it's a bonus: when you see a nice place like the hotel, you'll really love to go back to the hotel for a nice holiday, like the real turkey.
