Esenboga Hotel is a beautiful hotel 10 minutes from Ankara airport. Has 5 stars facilities, sauna, bar, club, pool, at a fraction of the price in UK. Very good service, the rooms were clean and very quiet. The reception area is decorated in old fashioned ottoman style with a twist of 16th Century France. Would definitely stay again

Luxury at a good price

I was in this hotel for job matters, and only because it is very near to the airport and the customer I wanted to visit the next day. Officially, it is a 5-star hotel. I can promise you that it would be a 2 or 3-star hotel in any of the european countries where I've been 'til now.

It is always empty (I've been there five or six times), the breakfast is very limited and it is complicated to find someone speaking english (apart from other guests or the reception people). There are grumms who follow you everywhere waiting for some money. But they do not deserve it.

The good part is that almost all factories in the sorroundings of Ankara are in this area and that the airport is about 5 minutes from this hotel. Nothing else.

5 stars? Are you sure?

There are only two good things worth to mention about this hotel: quite frienly staff and location close to Ankara Esenboga airport. The room we got wasn't really clean and most of furnitures as well as bathroom amenities require serious improvement. Upon arrival one of two available elevators didn't work while the second was occupied by a group that just have checked-in. I got a room on the 5th floor and although usually I don't mind walking with my backpack, I was forced to walk up and down twice as the key card to my room wasn't working at all. Finally - probably the most ridiculous thing about this hotel - despite its name the hotel does not offer any kind of transportation to/from airport.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel

This hotel is located near the Esenboga airport, that's probably why a lot of people stay over here. The hotel is an old style hotel dressed up as in the Ottoman period. The rooms have big carpets and huge curtains, the smell is not always good as it is allowed in Turkey to smoke in hotel rooms.
This makes the smell penetrating in the curtains and uncomfortable for other visitors.
The bathroom however is clean and the shower is not leaking which is uncommon in Turkish hotels.

The breakfast is horrible, chemical orange juice and no atmosphere inside the huge breakfast hall. I have been only on short stays before heading to the airport. The enthusiasm and friendliness of the personnel at the lobby could be better.
The hotel has the accommodation for 4 stars, but it has no style.
One night is around 160 TL, which is overpriced for this.

Expensive money for value

Building, romos and furniture too careles (even road is not paved till door. Hotel and room lighting too weak, and not airport transfer which should be a must in a 5-star hotel close to airport. On other side very friendly and helpful staff.
