This summer we stayed in this charming looking but very poorly maintained and managed little boutique hotel.

It is very centrally located which is very convenient, frankly the rooms were decorated very nicely when they built the hotel, the breakfasts are good and delicious, finally the staff working in the hotel are all naive, young people with good intentions.

However in our 7 days of stay we had all of the below happening to us, totally ruining our summer holiday;

1. There was no hot water in the rooms for 3 days

2. There was no water at all for almost all afternoon the day they decided to fix the hot water problem

3. The airconditioning in the room started not working properly, (remember it is Agean, end of july, 40 degrees celcius outside) despite our constant reminders it took 4 days for it to start working properly. Everytime we asked in this 4 days we were told that it will be repaired in 2 hours. We had this conversation probably 10-15 times.

4. Every morning we woke up at 6 am as the munipality was collecting garbage, which was mostly drink bottles from the bars across the street. We unfortunately stayed in the rooms, facing the front street and we were literally 5 meters away from all the garbage being collected. Imagine the noise of 10 big garbage bags full of bottles thrown into a garbage truck and multiply it by 5, that was the noise level.

5. And to crown the whole bad experince, what happened the day before our last was memorable. At 8 am (2 hours after i woke up to the sound of the garbage truck and the bottles) i was semi sleeping, the room started to smell horrible, but when i say horrible believe me, nothing like anything i have ever smelled before. I was dosing thinking what this horrible smell was, finally could not resist anymore got up, went next to the window and realized what was happening. A sewage truck was cleaning the sewage outlet right in front of the hotel, probably it was blocked and the truck was sucking it to open it. The exhaust of the grinder of the sewage truck was less than 1mt away from or window and all the exhaust of the s..t grinder was being pumped in to our room. My wife stated womitting, i was getting dizzy and we all woke up, went down and asked whether it was a horrible candid camera torture for 7 days. We could not get in the room till late afternoon that day.

The owners probably are too aristocratic or busy to deal with the problems of the hotel, managers are totally clueless, the staff is too naive, young and inexperienced.

There is a big staff turnover, one waiter was fired once and hired back when we were there and another girl was fired etc. the discussions and fuss about all of this happens on front of you when you are having the breakfast; tears, shoutings etc.

So, if you still want to go, go but never stay in the front rooms and agree with them before you check in that if the ac or hot water or something goes of you are not gonna pay for that day.

I sure hope some new people buys or starts operating the hotel.

Still alacati is big fun, enjoy.

One of our worst summer experiences, in what could have been a very charming little hotel

There's only one twin room at Nars Alacati and it's quite compact if you have large suitcases. But the room is comfortable and good value. 
The hotel is centrally located - the twin room is at the rear of the hotel with windows to a side street with bars/restaurants that (like most places in Alacati) are lively until around midnight. Take earplugs if you are sensitive to ambient noise. 
Breakfast is rustic (tomato, cucumber, olives, cheese, bread, jam, honey and one hot item like menemen or a savoury pastry) but perfectly adequate. 
The staff are happy to make restaurant reservations and give directions.
It's a small hotel which feels family-run. Little things could be improved to raise it to 'boutique': perhaps some sun loungers in the courtyard, hairdryers in the room (rather than on request)

A good, low-fuss B&B - friendly and helpful staff

I really wanted to love Nars- the decor of the rooms is beautiful. Lovely linen on the beds, sweet little details all over. But it seems like one person designed the place with a lovely aesthetic and then left it to some kids to run in their laid back fashion. We had booked three rooms and the air conditioning in one of them didn't work at all. Numerous calls for help did nothing to resolve the issue- so basically our kids slept in our room and the rooms are too small to accommodate 4 people! There is noise coming in from the street but what kept us up was the incessant clutter from the kitchen below our room. When checking out we wanted to no be charged for the third room as we hadn't used it- but there was no decision-maker on sight- we left around 11:00 am and the manager still hadn't made it in to work. So we left our contact details and suffice it to say that w still haven't been contacted.

So sad to be disappointed. 

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at the Nars Alacati and had a wonderful experience.  The hotel is centrally located in the heart of Alacati so it is very close to all of the restaurants, bars and shops.  The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and available 24/7 - they even insisted on walking us door to door to a few destinations rather than giving us directions!  We spent most of our days at the sister property - Nars Ilica - which was also fantastic with a private dock on the water, a very attentive and friendly staff and a nice food and wine selection for seaside relaxing.  The staff at both properties were very helpful and responsive in the weeks leading up to our trip - helping to answer questions and arrange transfers seamlessly through email, everything was handled extremely well.  Great local feel to both places - we would highly recommend both to anyone traveling to Alacati or Cesme!

Great Alacati hotel!

After a few days running around Istanbul we decided to come to the coast of Turkey. We stayed at Nars Alacati and took taxis to their other location Nars Ilica. Both places are heaven on earth. The staff is amazing and made us feel like we were welcomed guests. In fact, I am pretty sure they do not sleep. I've stayed at many five star hotels throughout the world for work and this place blows them out of the water. From the olive oil bath products to the monogrammed bee linens, everything is thought of. Breakfast is served when you wake up and then you can do what you want with your day. We took the taxi down to Nars Ilica and spent three wonderful days laying on their private pier and feeling grateful. 

As an American I am going to go back to the States to not only tell people they need to go to Turkey but they need to spend a few relaxing nights at Nars!
