Stayed there for 2 days with my mum and my kids what a lovely place . We really enjoyed our stay. the only downfall there is no restaurant . a big thank you to hamed who went out of his way to please us . Will defenetly go back !

Friend of mine visited this place for 2 days 
It was a very horrible experience for them
The pool was so green and dirty
The garden wasn't maintained at all
They were in the dark at 22.30
If you wanna have a good vacation please go see somewhere else

Nightmare

Overall very poor hygiene and pool with algae. Obviously, no one wanted to get an infection so we couldn't swim. Please consider doing something about that, especially when we do complain about the problem. Staff was completely non-responsive and dismissed the issue as if it was ok.

Poor hygiene

The swimming pool was beyond terrible. Came here with my friends to spend two nights (8th and 9th of August). Summers are Tunisia are extremely hot. What else would you choose a guest house if not for the pool? 
We complained multiple times, but unfortunately nothing was done to clean it. We've been told that the service technician wasn't coming because he had a lot of work to do. Then find another one... We are simply enraged and extremely disappointed. Big money waste. 

PS: We were given the suite and studio instead of the two cabins. That alleviated the damage but it was still not enough. The cabins were moldy and smelled really really bad. Wood requires a lot of work and maintenance, and clearly, those cabins were abandoned and poorly kept for years. Giving us the suite and studio was not a plus, it was what should be done for us to sleep in a decent place. 
Also, the fridges in the two new places smell bad. Overall hygiene is simply poor.

Extremely dirty pool

Swimming pool was disgusting. We were not able to swim at all...
Garden poorly maintained. 
No cleaning room services. 
Lawn was pale, not like in pictures. 
Cabins were moldy and smelled they haven't been aired in decades. 
Very little to no lights at night. We couldn't use the BBQ at night.

Avoid!

A complete disappointment

First, the swimming pool is a catastrophe; green with algae, bacteria, or God knows what. We got the house for 2 nights, and we couldn't step a foot in that pool.
Of course, no one came to clean it. There were 3 people working there full-time, and nothing was done for the pool, although we complained many many times. 

Second, no lights at night. We were left in the dark at night time, and the lights went completely off by 10:30pm, like in some student dorm. 

Third, the garden- as you can see in the photos- was very poorly kept. Dry leaves and dust all over the floor, hammock, and outdoor tables and chairs. We had to clean them ourselves so we could sit outside. Again, we made sure the owner knew about it. 

At first we got 2 cabins. They smelled terrible, since moss was eating the wooden structure and was not properly aired, and with very little sunlight. When we informed the owner about this, he managed to give us the suite and studio instead. They are great and we thank him, but it's not like he's done wonders. This place is a disaster.... Poorly maintained and low quality of service. Rooms were not getting cleaned either throughout our stay. 

What else? Expensive for no reason. Breakfast was very basic. Hard-boiled eggs, low quality coffee, bread, butter, jam, yoghurt. Nothing homemade or special. 

If you ever want to go to a guesthouse, try something else than Dar Ben Abdallah.

Worst guest house I've ever been to.

It's 30 KM from the city, dirty, service is very poor.... we arrived and no one was available to welcome us. We took the VIP studio, it was everything but VIP. We discourage anyone to go to this place. it was awful... Not even water available when we ordered our breakfast. This place is a huge scam. DO NOT GO there or you’ll regret it.
