Fantastic
30 reviewsOn Arrival the lovely Elizabeth showed me to my Room, and after a long flight I was in need of a cold beer. She apologised they did not have any and walked me to buy a beer from Preeva's bar next door. Preeva's bar being nothing more than a small shop with sporadic seats and benches outside. I spent the afternoon there and got to know all the locals. Returning daily thereafter and was made to feel really welcome. Then came Bob.... Bob arrived in his old but reliable 4x4. He checked I was ok, had a beer and told me to relax and let him know if need anything. The next day he took me to town for ATM and we went to locals restaurant for lunch where we ate typical Tanzanian food. And in the Evening he took me to Mimi's Bar around the corner. The next day once he had taken all his Chidren to school, he took me to Materuni waterfall where i got to see how they make, and then tasted mountain grown Chaga Coffee. After he he took me to see his family's Chaga farm, where there are historical caves used by his ancestors to defend themselves from other tribes. A truly unique experience which you can only get with Bob. On the way back we picked up all 5 of his young adorable children from their schools and invited me to eat home cooked traditional food with Him. Later he took me out again to another great locals Bar called Amuzz, where a member of his Reggae band was playing a Gig. Naturally he got up to sing a few songs and he was awsome. Bob Chewa The Legend, You can see him on Youtube. He a famous in Moshi. This year Bob has been invited to perform by the organisers of Nottinghill Carnival. I really hope he makes it there. The following day was a public holiday, and children were off school. I suggested we all go to Chemka Hot Springs with Children. We all had a great adventure and the Children loved it having never been before. Bob made me feel like a local and part of the family and I will never forget my Stay
