Twiga Beach Bungalows

If you want to test an extra ordinary place between your visits in luxury hotels, this is THE place.

This is different, a real Robinson Cruise Bungalow. 
- Hope they will never change! -

In the evening you can join the camp fire and have a chat with the locals, - if you want to. 
Perhaps you want to book your Delphine safari directly with the locals or take a Taxi back to Stone Town. All this can be organised.
There are several possibilities for the daily meals; you can test a cafe on the beach and if you travel low season, I recommend you share your costs between several local companies.

But this is the place I will absolutely go back to for day or two.

We did enjoy our stay at Twiga - Eddie the manager is very helpful, the vegetarian dinner we had was excellent. One thing that detracts from the place is the bugs that burrow in the wood of the bungalows (really loud) - this meant we both didn't sleep well. They organised us a dolphin tour which was good and really the people are very friendly. Good backpacking/ budget option.

Extra Ordinary Place - please never change!

Lots of atmosphere 

Small nice bungalows with good price.you can choose for one night for dolphin tours. But difficult if you don't have a car for night,because road is dark. Mkunguni is nice village to visit.especially for safari blue.

Hotel near to beach 

We booked on booking on this structure months ago. A friend wanted to come with me, so he booked with his account for a second room. 
We managed the pick up at the airport for 4 people and, at 8th of october, when we e-mailed for confirmation, they answered that everything was ok.
Now the surprise.
When we arrived at the airport the 14th, the driver was there, waiting for us. But he drove us to a different lodge.
No one was there to explain us what happened, just the new lodge owner, who was great, but she also didn't know why twiga bungalows was closed. 
Twiga modified our reservation on booking in a no show, so, they first of all took care at themselves. With the no-show, we didn't could have the same price of the reservation. Luckyli the new accomodation was great, and wasn't a problem paying a little bit more. 

In 15 days of staying in a lodge 200m far from the twiga (which was open), no one called us, or sent an e-mail, or presented himself to us to say sorry or explain.

I booked this place couple months before my arrival. 
Right before my arrival I checked if everything Is prepared and if everything valid as we agreed.
I got and answer the we will be welcome and everything is ready for our stay. Even I got an instruction how to go there from airport as it’s a quite distance. 
And then the “fun” started. We arrived and we got in information that there are no free rooms for us and they don’t even know when the rooms will be available.  
Without even say sorry, we had to moved out and find some other place for our stay at Kizimkazi.
