HANA Homestay

Stayed here two nights on a recent visit to Taitung. new, tastefully decorated B & B near the old train station. After arrival called owner and she picked us up at train station. Ride was about 20 minutes. Stayed at 2nd level lavender room with one single / large bed despite that we requested two single beds upon booking. Room was sparse with small vanity, and one chair no other lighting except ceiling light which makes reading difficult. No closet nor shelves to put our stuff. no luggage valet. Clean bathroom with adequate amenities. Breakfast was homemade and tasty. Owner very friendly showed us around town- made dinner suggestions, offered homemade buns, and shared fruit. Mostly she introduced us to a wonderful tour guide whom we ended hiring for two days. B & B close to old rail track - many people walk/ run on track for exercise. A good 30 minutes walk to town. At night not all street lamps working so I would not recommend walking after dark. Since our room faced the street it was noisy ( i.e machinery/ school marching band?) after 9:00 and before 8:00. I really have mixed feelings about this place. The location is not that convenient, the room is not friendly for a traveler, and there are hundreds B & B in the surrounding area- but the owner's enthusiasm and kindness make up for a decent stay.
