Alishan Lauya Homestay

This review is long over due but staying in this homestay has been the most relaxing trip Ive ever been. Initially planned to go to Alishan alone but instead went there with my mother and she loved it so much. I live the relaxing atmosphere of the homestay, and how it gives you a sense of calmness once you stepped into the place. I love sitting over the garden and overlooking the view of the mountains especially during the sunset (haven't seen the sunrise because my mom and I were so relaxed we kept on sleeping in). We love the food served during breakfast so much that we didn't even realise that it was all vegetarian. The caretaker, being Filipina as well, explained that the owners are vegetarian which explaines the menu. Either way, it was so good and we have a very fulfilling meal before we set off to Alishan mountain for the sunrise. Another highlight of our stay were the fruit platter and tea that they would serve. My mother and I looked forward to it so much that before we left for Taiwan, my mither bought the same exact tea pot and cups as well as the Plum powder that goes so well with the fruits.and ever since then, she would have a fruit platter and tea each afternoon. The staffs are were all very hospitable and really took care of us. When my mother and I went to the nearby village to have a late lunch and we realised that there is no more bus going back to the hostel, we called the homestay and one of their staff ( I cant remember the name, a male staff) came with a car and drove us back to our homestay. Another staff, their caretaker, a Filipina having found out that were Filipinos as well were excited as she said Filipinos don't usually visit Alishan. So because if that she would always come and have a chat with my mom and I. And I dont know if it is deliberate but on our first night as I was taking a shower, I brought in my lavender body was. And when we came back the next day after spending the whole day at the Alishan Mountain, when my mom requested for the fruit platter and tea (she really lives it!), they served us with lavender tea together with the fruit platter. If it is deliberate, I love them even more as they take notes on these minute details. All in all it was the most therapeutic stay ever. If ever the covid situation is finished, I would love to come back to Alishan Lauya and stay longer (we only stayed for 3D2N). Hang in there Alishan Lauya Homestay!
