Pension Sonnenberg

Me and three friends ended up at Pension Sonnenberg after the accommodation we were supposed to be staying at in Lauterbrunnen cancelled our booking unannounced on the day we were due to arrive. Some frantic calls to everywhere in the area who might have a room led us to here and we arrived at about 8pm on a Friday night. After telling us they had a room available the lady managing that night even ordered us the local taxi to take us from Murren station up to the accommodation. On arrival she confirmed how many nights we wanted and showed us to a large dorm room that she said would be ours for the duration of our trip. the room was simple but nice and had a newly renovated bathroom that was great. We quickly discovered that none of us had the correct power adapters for Switzerland and she lent us a charger for several days for our phones. The next morning at breakfast she told us that she'd even managed to get us a discount on our room, making it even better! Over the next few days the staff were wonderful, giving us leaflets, hints and tips of where to go and generally being super helpful. They let us add food and drinks to our room tab and sort everything at the end, which made life much easier. On the last night the chef even picked us up from the station late at night, made us food then dropped us to the station in the morning with a lunchbox as it was too early for the proper breakfast! In short after having a terrible time when our booking elsewhere was cancelled we couldn't have possibly had a better stay at Pension Sonnenberg. The place was lovely, the food was lovely, the views and beers were even better and the staff couldn't have possibly been more helpful. Would recommend to everyone.
