We arrived here very late and unexpectedly but the manager was more than happy to take us in and cook us dinner. Rooms are basic and clean and the back garden is small and cute. There were three of us staying and two of us thought the food was great but our friend said hers was a bit too salty. We had problems with the hot water so we just had to use another bathroom. It is about three km out of town but just a quick 10 minute bus ride on one of the many that stop outside. Very friendly service.

Welcoming home stay

This is a nice place to be. Really love the place and the service. Cool owner with good thoughts. Whenever I come to N-Eliya this will be the place I'm going to stay " Your next home in the hills" and I have experienced this concept very well.

A good place for some happy moments..

Christopher welcomed us with a lovely cup of tea in the garden on our arrival. We basked in the sun and cooler temperatures. Barcode Residencies is in Hawa Eliya (near to Nuwara Eliya) but the tuk tuk drive wasn't too far. It felt a little like were heading into an industrial area, but the house was a haven with a small garden and views over cultivated fields.

The room was simple and clean with lovely warm blankets so we were quite warm at night. The bathroom was newly renovated with tiles and an electric shower (tip: the power switch might be outside the bathroom!).

Christopher was very kind. He made sure we had his phone number when we went into town to pick up some fruit and snacks - just in case the tuk tuk driver couldn't find it. He provided us with a packed breakfast for our early start to hike to World's End. He even hard boiled a pack of eggs that I had bought for extra snacks.

Tip: check if breakfast included in the price (I think it was)

I would have given a 4* rating except for the dog next door which barked throughout the night. I realise that this isn't a fault of Barcode Residencies, but if you are desperate for a good night's sleep and / or are a light sleeper, please be aware.

Value for money

Got the luck to be there 2 times, nothing to be complained of but lot to appreciate..friendly companions from management to the base level....comfortable rooms, spacious lobby, scenic garden and some good in house foods to make the home stay feel complete...Thanks Barcode Residencies for making our stay an unforgettable one..see you next time

Home stay concept at it's best

We spent two nights during our last holiday to Sri Lanka in December 2014. Rooms are clean and plenty of space for family. Friendly guest relationship Manager accommodated all our requests and had organised a tour to see a Tea Factory in the area - Pedro Estate.
Very relaxing & home away from home.
