If you want to experience true sri lankn hospitality there are no place in nuwara eliya other than this home like this destination. Best rooms, best food and hospitality with care wich make your stay a memorable one with a wonderful family...

Best hospitality 

There's more than just Ella to Sri Lanka's hill-country. Don't miss out on this must see destination along the best train journey of your life. 

Getting off of the train at Nanu Oya Railway Station to bet met by a taxi that had already been arranged by the hotel made the transfer effortless; just what was needed after a long days travelling. The hotel is one of the highest buildings in Sri Lanka and to no surprise this comes with incredible panoramic views of Nuwara Eliya, the tallest point in Sri Lanka, and the rolling tea fields that have been around since 1880. 

Upon arrival, we were greeted by our host, Chandhi, who made us feel welcome immediately. 

The rooms are a great size and seriously comfortable; easily accommodating 3 or 4 people. The bathrooms are brand new, immaculately clean and with a powerful warm shower; one of the best I've had all trip, and all that you could hope for in the crisp mountain air. 

From the house there are beautiful walks into the mountains along narrow paths, on our short excursion we saw a tiny humming bird by one of the small streams that trickle down the valleys; so it is well worth getting out and exploring the local setting. 

Chandhi provided dinner for us at outstanding value, even going to the shops in town to get provisions for us to have with dinner. I can confidently say that she cooks the best curry and rice I've had in Sri Lanka. The pineapple dish is superb; would definitely recommend. 

Breakfast was equally as impressive, with more food laid on than we could possibly have eaten; even between six of us. She packaged up all of the food that we couldn't eat in the morning for our lunch on the road. 

In summary, a must-do stop for anyone travelling the island; offering everything Sri Lanka's picturesque hill-country has to offer. 

Outstanding in all areas

Really lovely family run guesthouse. Unfortunately we arrived during off season when the owners were carrying out improvements on the property, therefore the photos online can be misleading. 

The room was a great size however, very very damp. At night the room can become very cold, even though blankets are provided. 

However, this place was suitable for a stop over for one night and the family are wonderful hosts - they are extremely accommodating and helpful. 

The best part of fairyland inn is the view. With being so high up in the mountains means you get to witness Nuwara Eliya in all its glory. 

Pleasant stop over stay

We stayed for a night in this beautiful property. The room is big and very well furnished. Very cosy for the Nuwaraeliya weather. The family is very sweet and cooked us what we wanted for breakfast. They even wrote the recipes for us, upon request. My friend took a couple of time lapses of the starry night. Great view from the balcony!

Sweet family, great place and an awesome view of the hills

We visited Fairyland Inn as apart of a Sri Lanka holiday in January this year. A couple of things to note about this place.

1. The pictures shown by management are in no way currently  representative of the place ( see the attached photo). 

2. The place had 2 rooms not 4 The place is currently under construction.

3. The eating area is filthy- In fact we got very sick after our stay.

The host ( Chandi) is a very nice lady , but this hotel is not what it seems. Definitely better options which are commensurate with this price range.

Don't book here - extremely overpriced for what it is !
