A very pleasant stay in this family home. Situated on the heights of Kandy, accessible by a small path, fairly close to the center, a very quiet place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the center. A warm and friendly welcome, at the service of travelers (advice, tuk-tuk reservations, etc.). Don't miss the local breakfast: fresh and delicious.  Thank you so much!

A very welcoming guest house for a pleasant stay

We could hear how insistent the host was on leaving 5* reviews. 
We found the bed extremely uncomfortable, his baby was screaming while we were having breakfast, ac did not work properly, internet did not reach the room and the shower had very little water. 
We had no sheet on the bed and there were used soap from previous guests. 

We decided to give up one night from the reservation and straight away he said “do not mention this online” still he decided to charge us for the second night 

Reviews and ratings  not reliable on this place 

A warm welcome with tea greeted us in this lovely old house. Spotless house and rooms, great shower (cold shower in budget room) Room was large and bed was comfortable. Our hosts were so helpful with lots of information of the area and travelling in Sri Lanka in general. They also will arrange transport for you. Around 30 min walk to town via a steep road that is currently being repaired but there is a shortcut to Cloud Inn that cuts some of this walk via a steep bank and steps. Good breakfast either western or Sri Lankan at good price and if you want a home cooked meal then look no further. Can also book tours here

Wonderful people, home from home

This is a wonderful guesthouse with a kind and attentive family. They were very thoughtful, giving us tea, a flash light when we went out at night, and even a lift to dinner one night. The room was spacious and cozy. We had a little balcony too. The air con works well and the shower has hot water if you want it. It is located at the far end of the lake but everything is still walkable. There is a short cut trail that helps get you closer to town. Highly recommended! 

Wonderful stay

The room was very comfortable, clean for a cheaper price. The owner was amazing and very helpful. Nice conversation whit them. The view on the top was perfect for see around the city. The easy way ton find the place is by tucktuck because is in the mountain. I recommend for sure.  

Perfect place to stay in Kandy

I highly recommend this place to anybody and guarantee you will definitely have great hospitality and clean and tidy rooms. And also you you will have dinner facilities. Definitely we will come back soon. 

Great Hospitality 

My wife and I stayed at the Cloud Inn in December and we absolutely loved it! The brothers that run the Inn were so friendly and attentive to our needs. They ordered us dinner to eat at the Inn when I was sick and gave us a ride to meet our taxi driver when it was time to leave. The room is spacious and comfortable and we can't say enough good things about it. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Our favourite stay in all of Sri Lanka!

Best stay in Sri Lanka!

We arrived in Kandy late one evening and after looking up a few places to stay we decided to try the Cloud Inn as it had good reviews and a good price! After a bit of trouble our tuk tuk found the Inn and we were greeted with such a warm welcome by the hosts! We were given our choice of rooms, all of which were spotless and new. We settled ourselves in and the hosts came to offer us juice and tea to welcome us. We had only planned to stay one night but after the warm welcome, the great breakfast and the monkeys outside our window when we woke up we decided to stay for two! The shortcut to the town was super handy and a nice walk into town along the lake. We loved our stay here and would definitely stay here again if we were in Kandy. Lovely hosts that always greeted you with a huge smile made our stay great :)

Intended to stay for 1 night stayed for two it was so great!

I really enjoyed our one night stay here in Kandy. The Google maps location is wrong however. Best to follow the map for Majestic Hotel and then call the owners.
The guy, Kasun, greeting us was really welcoming, a very good host. There is no driver accommodation and because of the festival at the time there was limited availability. He let our driver stay in his staff accommodation. He also arranged a free tuk tuk ride (about 10 minutes) into the centre so we could watch the festival. When we was having trouble getting change, he offered to give us some money. Real, genuine hospitality. A lovely guy!
The breakfast is basic but for what you pay it's a really nice little homestay if you're just passing through Kandy. 

Lovely clean homestay

Booked directly with host through email  and got instant confirmation for 2 nights Stay
and for pickup from airport  to kandy 
I enquired with some local travel  agents among those I got good deal from host 
We received the pickup on time at the Airport  it's really gr8...After 3 hrs travel we reached Cloud Inn....Warm Welcome with Chilled Drink and Snacks by Mr Nish and Martina 
Rooms are very clean toilet very very clean 
And we got good deal with them for our Sightseeing trips
It's hardly ten mins walk to Garden cafe and 30 mins walk to Temple  of tooth 
We actually booked for only two nights but we extended for one more day bcoz of their gr8 hospitality......We had been travelled 12 countries  among those we never met persons like Mr Nish and Martina.....
