Bernard and his family were lovely hosts. He helped to buy us train tickets to Ella, which are difficult to get and which he got for about half the price than the online agencies sell them for. The house has a beautiful terrace where you have breakfast overlooking the hills (but is up a steep hill which you will need to walk up). It can be a little hard to find in the dark but tuk tuks are familiar with the local supermarket a couple of minutes walk away so it is easy to be dropped off there. The room is spacious and comfortable.

Excellent home stay with a welcoming host

We have stayed in this loveley place only for a night, but we were at most surprised of the owners hospitality. We reserved a family room, but were "upgraded" to a whole appartment. It cannot be better, waking up and having Kandy at your feet. The road to the place is steep, but owner picked us up and drove us with a smile. Thank you for everything! I would heartly recommend staying here for more than just 1 night!!!

Pros:
- Basically everything
- Owners were extremely nice and helpful
- Beautiful 2 bedroom house with full kitchen and patio
- Beds were very comfortable
- Water was hot and good pressure
- Fabulous breakfast, both western and Sri Lankan
- I would definitely stay here again
- Great value for money

Cons:
No major cons, only a few suggestions to make it even nicer:
- add waste bins in bathroom and kitchen
- add a few more dishes and silverware, and cooking utensils, maybe a couple of more pans for the gas cook top and a baking sheet for the oven
- a few paper products are always appreciated by westerners (kitchen paper, serviettes), I know the locals do not use them the way we do
- a bit of fresh paint in the bathroom
- get second bathroom back in working condition, which is probably already done by now!

Exceeded my expectations; a beautiful vacation rental with amazing owners

The property is situated on a hill but not too difficult to get to if you like walking but only short ride into the town. There are some stunning views from the rooftop seating area, great views when seated for breakfast, puts you in the right frame of mind for the day ahead. 
Breakfast was both good and plentiful
The owner Bernard was just absolutely fabulous he dropped us of in town just after we arrived and gave us a tour of the city and quick pointer of the key points of interest included a recommendation of where to eat traditional local food. 
He also managed to help us get train tickets and dropped us off at the station. 
He was always willing to help and advise and was an excellent host. The accommodation is generally clean and tidy but the views and the host made up for anything the accommodation lacked


Helpful owner

Very large apartment with private kitchen and terrace, panoramic view - excellent place. Not far from bus and railway station. 300 Rp Tuk Tuk ride into town (with the definite advantage that the apartment doesn´t get any traffic noise). The owners are very helpful, breakfast ist plentiful (Sri Lankan breakfast, toast and fruits). Good value for the money.

Uma and Bernhard were so helpful and welcoming
Situated up on a hill you are away from the noise and the view is real beautiful
