What can I say, cheap, clean, have to mention the toilet fittings are the expensive kind.
Large comfy beds. The owner Raja is very accommodating and cooked some splendid food whenever we needed it. Tea and coffee was on call 24/7.
The guest house is located quite near the town and is about a 20 minute walk.
Loved it , and will definitely revisit.

Easy reachable by walk from train station. Very friendly host. Although we needed to leave very early he made us breakfast and it was so delicious . The room has everything you need. He organised us a very friendly tuk tuk driver which took us around all hatton and surronding area with good explanations to everything - for a great price.

10/10. Room was very comfortable. Home cooked food was perfect. Very short walk from town but far enough to feel removed from the hustle and bustle. They also offer a very good taxi and took took service including one which waits overnight while you can climb Adams peak for the sun rise. 10/10 would stay again!

This hostel is a 5 min walk from both the train and bus station making the location great. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice enough bathroom and hot water. The food was good and the hosts friendly. The location is slightly wrong in google maps.

Where do I start?!?! We arrived without a booking so we negotiated on the room rate. We got the small room for 2000 including breakfast but we then realised there was no hot water and the room was not worth that much money. The two girls that we met on the train also stayed here but they paid 4000 for their room on Airbnb. 

The owner wanted us all to book is tuk tuk Service to adam’s Peak but we all wanted to either share a taxi or get the bus. The owner kept telling me that the girls already booked the tuk tuk but when I spoke to them it wasn’t true. He was trying to play us against each other. When we asked about a shared taxi he wanted 4000 one way - the bus is only 190 return or 160 return for the direct bus. So we opted for the bus even though the owner told us that a) there was no direct bus and b) the last bus was at 3pm. This want true ether, we got the bus back at 5pm from Adam’s peak. 

In the morning we all wanted breakfast together but he seperated us... after we met up the girls, they told me that they got toasts, a few eggs, pancakes and coffee but we only got white bread with half an egg and only tea. We asked for coffee but he told us he didn’t have any. The girls also told us the owners brought their “accountant” and accused them of not paying for the room in the middle of their breakfast but I think this was another scam. 

We paid a bit extra to switch rooms because we needed hot water in this cold weather so we paid 2300 for a much nicer room but we got exactly the same breakfast the second morning. I even asked for coffee again and he told me he didn’t have any. 

The owners kept telling me that their rates are very reasonable and the taxi cost is very reasonable. I told them they were not reasonable and does he think we’re stupid that travellers are not going to talk to each other?!?! Stay here at your own risk!!

For anyone that wants to do the trip by bus in low season, just go to the bus station and jump on a bus to maskeliya for 45 rupee then change to a bus to Adams peak for 50 rupee. Same on the return. The locals will help you. There are two direct busses a day but you need to ask at the bus station for the times. We took the bus from Hatton at 9am and took the return at 5pm. Go earlier if you want to take the hike slow.
