After booking with Agoda we had to cancel due to Covid-19; our flights were cancelled & British passport holders unable to enter Sri Lanka. Full payment had been taken, however Agoda's policy is that a full refund should be made, and the hotel confirmed by email that this would happen. Since then there had been no refund and the hotel does not reply to my emails. Agoda has tried to help but will not take responsibility. I see a number of other customers have had payment issues with this hotel so clearly management is not to be trusted.

Avoid this hotel

The view is spectacular but other than that this was a terrible stay. The room had many faults... plug sockets hanging off, lights not working, dirty bed sheets (they had been cleaned but black marks all over them) and a very mouldy bathroom. The breakfast wasn’t very nice at all and the food was very stale.

I had paid for the property prior to arriving but decided to upgrade my room when I got there. Unfortunately instead of just taking the extra money for the room upgrade they charged me the full property price again. They said they would refund me but this never materialised.

The property then blocked me from messaging them and have so far refused to give me my money back. Fortunately booking.com are sorting this and I’d be surprised if they keep the hotel on their site.

Please avoid staying here.. the manager was aware they had overcharged me and agreed at the time to refund me but has been avoiding this ever since.

It’s not worth the hassle or the money to stay and there are much better options in Ella.

Avoid!!

The views from Nature view rooms are truly exceptional, almost unreal. This is what this hotel is about. The rooms are nice but needs updating - especially the bathroom fittings. The breakfast is good - especially the omelettes. We did our laundry and it was a very professional service and reasonable as well! Overall a good stay.

Unbelievable views

From this hotel you have fantastic views of the mountains and a water fall. You can easily reach the track to Ella Rock from here. The standard of the rooms are quite simple but clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

Fantastic views and good service

It was a great experience at Ella Nature View.. We booked the deluxe family room and it was spacious and clean. My 3 kids were able to run around and have fun..Waking upto the sound of waterfall and amazing view was so heavenly and peaceful.

Their breakfast menu was very tasty though the options are less. But their services are great from the receptionist to everyone. 

The location is just a 3 minute ride from the railway station and they were packed us early breakfast to catch the train..

The deluxe room was easy to climb down but not easy to climb up especially with a 1 yr old kid we had to carry. 

Dinner was the same every night maybe they could have more alacarte options.

Great Room with a View!!

Our stay was for 3 nights at this hotel. Although the weather was not in our favor, the staff at Ella Nature View made our stay memorable. Kelum including the rest at the hotel were very helpful, humble and always with a smile.
Booked in for deluxe rooms for our family and they were quite spacious and clean. All rooms are with the mountain view, so you can't go wrong with the view. 
Breakfast was quite good with minimal options. But they still tasted good. Their ala carte menu also had some good options for dinner and reasonably priced.

Our credit card was charged without authorization, both parties claim the other is to blame. Neither party will accept responsibility.
The property is completely misrepresented on line. IT IS NOT 850m from station, it is 3km+  This is not personal opinion, these are facts. Booking.com and Ella Nature View have acted fraudulently.

Not as good as the images you see

A stunning view! The mountains, waterfall, wildlife! We loved watching the birds, monkeys, squirrels and mongoose around the guesthouse. The balcony was ideal to sit back, admire the view and enjoy the quiet. It is a bit of a walk from the main town, but easy enough down a few flights of stairs and along the train tracks, and definitely worth it for the view. On arrival with your bags you can get a tuk tuk for 300 LKR from town. The room was spacious, and had everything we needed. We had no AC, but a fan, but there was no need up in the mountains. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Nimal, who helped us with our plans for our stay, drawing us maps and ensuring we were heading in the right direction. Breakfast was great, in the restaurant up top, with the unbeatable view in the background!

Our only comment would be that with our room below the main restaurant it was a little noisy early in the morning and during the afternoon with the team moving tables around. It didn't matter too much to us as we were up early and out for exploring most days, but may be worth checking your room location if you are keen for a lie in!

View and service

We loved this place.  We booked a deluxe room which is in their new building, just a bit lower than the original.  The room is large, clean and simple - exactly what you’d expect for the price. The staff have been so accommodating to the point the on duty manager lent us money from his wallet as the tuk tuk driver didn’t have change.  

We felt as though we had a private butler with the back of house outside our door and ready to provide us any service.

Yes, the hotel is down a side dirt road, but this is part of the exploration of Ella.  To get the amazing views you need to be off the beaten track.  The hotel provided tuk tuk to get us to and from the main road and all the way into town (at the standard rate).

Breakfast is a small but sufficient buffet with an amazing view.

Great value!  If you’re prepared to pay for a deluxe room ask for room 115 - best position and size.
