I was in September at Chitras place with recommendation from someone I know.
Very cosy place near to the beach and a beautiful garden with many  fire flys in the evening and some squirrels in the day time. The rooms are a little bit older, but still very nice, especially very bright with lots of light and big windows. As well you have lots of space if you want to do some yoga in the room. The bathroom is small but completely enough, and everything is in there what you need. The rooms are very clean and if you ask them to clean it again or swap bed sheets they will do it.
The Massage next to Chitras place is awesome. I got a 3 hours Aryuverdic Massage every day. Very good treatments, from head to toe and face as well, absolutely nothing to complain.
I got food in the morning, afternoon and evening in Chitras living room. At that time I was alone there and got cooked by Chitra everyday. She always asked what I would like to eat. Good cooking with many different currys, nice fruits, teas and juices, VERY good ice cream. Just at the end the dishes got the same everytime. Would be nice to have a little bit more different things, especially when you stay longer than 3 days.
The beach was near by, so you could walk there, watch the sunset or just walk around and collect little bit of rubbish. The train is between the garden and the beach and you hear it, but it is nothing what disturbs you. I loved to hear the train passing by. Otherwise it is quiet, no kids, no big other sounds, no cars, very nice and peaceful.
They organised me a Tuk Tuk when I had to go to town or when I left by train.
Very friendly people working there and it is a good feeling to support this people as it is just a couple of them working together to keep the place running.

As a summary: good price for the cooking you get, the Massage treatments everyday, the room and the location!

I would love to come back and have some more treatments ;)

Very nice place with good Massage Treatments

This place is about ten minute walk out of town down a quiet road.
It is a two minute walk to the beach through the garden and over the railway line, the beach is lovely, clean and quite long and a good walking beach.
The breakfast is the usual fruit, toast and eggs served in the garden and is nice.
The bed was comfortable with a net and a fridge in the room and a fan and air-con.
You should be aware that, like most of the places in Bentota, the railway line is just at the bottom of the garden and when the trains rumble through the whole place shakes. They start quite early in the morning (between 5 and 6am), there seems to be a bit of a break during the day and then there are more during the evening and late night. In fairness though, the whole town is built along the railway line and you will struggle to avoid this if you want to stay here.
The biggest thing that let the room down was the shower room which was in desperate need of refurbishment, the water was hot but the room is tiny, the shower head was poor, the plastic shower curtain was torn and the toilet had a polystyrene block wedged between the cystern and the wall, presumably to stop it rattling when the trains go through.

Let down by the dreadful shower room!

When it happens to be in the perfect peaceful place you were looking for with a family that treats you as were part of them, the experience overtakes expectation. Chitra’s family is amazing. I miss all of them badly. I had an amazing time there. They reminded me the power of smiling and welcoming people. Thanks a lot❤️

Chitra has redefined my expectations of hospitality and kindness 

Thank you a lot, it’s an amazing place.the breakfast was delicious. The house was very clean, comfortable, because there was WIFI and Air conditioner and a beautiful swimming pool. Everybody vas kind with us. We are happy to come back and make Ayurvédique médecine,Thanks a lot , Dureux Family.

Amazing Place

Chitra is a legend, wonderful lady and family. Great breakfast, very helpful in organising trips and local knowledge. A short walk to the beach. Clean and tidy. Lovely setting with good view of the coastal train!

Love this place

We recently visited Sri Lanka on a holiday . We are family of 3 . We stayed at Chitra Ayurveda for 3 days and we loved our stay . The place is beautiful and quite and the best part is that the beach is walking distance from Chitra Ayurveda. It also has a railway track close to the property which makes the place look very scenic . The host were just excellent . They were very hospitable and kind and very accommodative with our needs . They do provide excellent breaky too . Overall they made our stay in Sri Lanka very special and nice . Thank you Chitra Ayurveda.😊

Lovely home stay

Lovely place to stay. Excellent location, right on the beach, on the quiet section of the beach. Great breakfast in the morning, on the grounds outside among the trees. Rooms are very comfortable and cool, nicely done. People are very kind and helpful. Highly recommend staying here, we had a wonderful time.

The perfect place to stay in Bentota

We went here for a day and a night as a quick little break before leaving Sri Lanka. Me and my brother made friends with all of the staff who were very friendly and were very good at making tea, I didn’t have a ayuravedic massage but my parents did, and they really enjoyed it. 
I cannot recommend this place enough. The beach nearby is very pleasant , clean and safe. Highly recommend!

A lovely setting with lovely staff!

We stayed here for one night on our way from Hikkaduwa to Colombo. We loved it. Chitra and her family and staff are so friendly and engaging. Our boys loved chatting to them over a cup of (excellent) tea. Rooms are clean and spacious and well equipped. The garden is a lovely space to relax (and enjoy breakfast). It is a short walk across the railway to the clean, safe beach area - that is great to swim in. The train passes through the garden a few times a day and adds another dimension to the place - and a great photo opportunity!  The wife and I also had massages and they were very pleasant - more ‘soft and aromatic’ rather than deep tissue/sports - good value and recommended if you stay here. They do not provide lunch or evening meals so you need to plan to walk out to get food - but they have their own Tuk-tuk that they will use to run you to a local restaurant of your choice. In summary, we loved our short stay here and can not fault what is on offer. Strongly recommended to anyone and everyone who fancies a bit of chill-out time with a lovely family in a lovely setting. 

Lovely setting, very relaxing

We stayed for one night & weren't dissatisfied at all. This establishment is service oriented and make their guests feel welcomed and comfortable. Their in-house tuktuk service is great as well. Ayurvedic treatments are good as well. Rooms are big and clean. Breakfast is good. Wonderful, honest people. Cons- no tv. Bathroom is small. Overall, it was a good experience and I will recommend this place for a 2-3 night stay.
