Blue Mangrove Villa

In the past this place had been given some poor ratings. That is totally unfair. This is a lovely tranquil setting on the lakeside near Bentota. We stayed two nights. The caretaker Ajith, his wife Sherome and their beautifully behaved children are an absolute delight and utterly charming. The household is airconditioned, modern and minimalist. The bedroom we had was light and airey with a very good shower and comfortable bed. There could be a few little refinements but generally it was immaculately clean, fresh, lovely and prettified by beautiful fresh flowers everywhere. The garden is an oasis off peace and tranquillity and a great place to see local wildlife on the lake. Breakfast was tea or coffee with beautiful fresh fruit, eggs and toast. Delicious. The family also have a Tuk Tuk which means local travel is easy. They cooked a delicious curry dinner for us one night. We would enthusiastically return anytime.
