NH Valencia Center

Fantastic location; walking distance from the old town and, thankfully, not in the thick of it! I had read reviews that the hotel rooms could be noisy as the hotel is right beside the bus station. So, I asked for a quiet room; and I was given a quiet room. I had stayed a week earlier in another hotel in Valencia and had a very bad experience (reviewed on Tripadvisor too). While lying awake the whole first night there, I thought that it would be a great idea to have a door separating the bedroom from the rest of the room; lo and behold, my wish was granted in the NH Valencia Center!!! I could hear the person next door when they touched anything at the head of the bed. Suggestion for next renovation: don't put beds in adjoining rooms head to head. I loved that I could see the Turia (granted, sideways) from my room. The bathroom had obviously been recently renovated with a lovely low bathtub; perfect for me especially given my terrible experience in the other above-mentioned hotel. All the fittings were modern. I loved having a bidet (not common in Northern climates); the small towel was missing from the rail though. I loved having a kettle with teabags provided. Soap, shampoo etc. were in dispensers rather than being individual. that they In terms of protecting the environment I was OK with this. However, I found that they had a very strong perfume which I can't tolerate. I asked in Reception whether they had other toiletries which they didn't. Suggestion: to have alternatives should guests have sensitive skin (and noses!). The weather was great while I was in Valencia and I wanted to sunbathe a little before heading off for the day. There was a lovely terrace but very little room to actually sunbathe out of season as the pool is covered. The overhead slats also blocked the sun. Suggestion: have more space for those of us from Northern climates who like to sunbathe before summer officially begins! I had asked for slippers to be provided; I didn't get them but it didn't matter as I was only staying one night. Last but not least, all the staff that I was in contact with were lovely.
