Our stay here was fantastic what  lovely owners they made us feel  very welcome and parking for our motorbikes very clean. Coffee and toast for breakfast lots of parking and two  supermarkets a 10 minute was a 20 minute walk to potes lots of restaurants and shops in potes

My colleague and I rested in this hotel for a night after a strenuous 90 mile trekking route through Picos de Europa. It is conveniently situated near Fuente Dé (where the cable car is) and Potes (major city in the area where you should go and have a taste of the local gastronomy) at slightly lower price and with a much more less crowded ambiance. The hotel's pearl is it's back garden, where you can chill and relax as much as you want with some drinks. 

The hotel rooms are modest but sufficient if you are just looking for a place to take a rest and keep on going. It is a family run business and we were treated with an exquisite, almost motherly, kindness. One of the owners even offered to keep our stuff and food for future hiking trips to the area! 

Some other good stuff: it has a DIA (supermarket) across the street and it is a 10 minute walk to Potes. They have a bar service with beer on tap :)

In sum, I definitely recommend Hotel Toscana to be used as a base to hike Picos.

Lovely, affordable hotel near the cable car to Picos de Europa

Stayed at this small family run hotel on two occasions now, once with the guys and secondly with the wife, both times whilst touring on a motorbike. On both occasions our room was clean and comfy, nothing is too much trouble for the owners who are very friendly. Motorbikes stay outside but this area is safe. There is a number of shops, supermarket, chemist etc nearby, plus a great little cafe/bar on the roundabout catering to hungry Brits with strong coffee and bacon/cheese baguettes in the morning! A short walk takes you down into Potes, a pleasant and picturesque town to visit in the evening. Try the local Sidre complete with hand-pump! I would definitely recommend this hotel for travellers needing a single or two night stay to or from the ferry. Alternatively it would be a good base for a week to explore the Picos area.

Cheap and cheerful

I wanted a no frills hotel that I could use  as a base for exploring the Picos de Europa on my motorcycle.  The Hotel Toscana fitted the bill beautifully!  The rooms are comfortable and all en-suite.  They are fitted with flat screen televisions, although I did not use mine so I don't know what channels to expect, the showers are hot and the bed comfortable.What more do you need in a room?  Th area outside the hotel belongs to the hotel so parking is free.

Breakfast is the standard buffet with meat, cheese, rolls, various cakes, toast etc with coffee, tea or juice to drink.  No need to go hungry.  The is also a small bar so a welcome cold beer is available for a relaxing evening drink to cool down after a hot dusty day.  The owner, his family and staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make you welcome.  Bikers a very welcome.
Opposite the hotel is a small supermarket which is useful and just a few yards away is a pharmacy and an electronics shop which supplied me with a power lead for my computer.  Also a bus stop where you can catch local busses or a bus to Santander and other large towns in the area.

It is a short walk into Potes where there are a multitude of restaurants supplying the needs of the tourist trade.  Most do menu of the day which comprises of starter, main and dessert with a choice of water, coke, cider or wine to drink for between 12 and 15 euros so an evening meal is affordable.  (Less than a bottle of wine in a UK restaurant!)

The hotel is situated on the edge of the Picos but the mountain range is easily accessible.  great fun on a bike!  The roads are mainly in very good condition and nearly empty, quite a contrast to the crowded roads in the UK.  A kilometre from the hotel is a very large information centre dealing with the Picos and there are a couple of tourist information centres also.

I stayed at the hotel for 16 days and would happily stay there again if in the Picos area.  It is a beautiful area to be in.  the scenery is staggering.  What more can I say?  Go there!

Friendly, comfortable and affordable!

We just stayed here for a week using it as a base to hike in the Picos. It worked really well. It’s 30-60min drive to many of the best hiking in the mountain range. 

Don’t expect luxury. Expect a basic but clean room with a big bed. Expect a brilliant shower that is hot. Expect very friendly and helpful owners and staff who speak little English but will always do their best to help

If you are happy with that, you will not be disappointed!  There’s plenty parking. A supermarket just across the road and a highly recommended restaurant next door (although frustratingly only open lunchtimes when we were there). 

We stayed on the second floor at the back and it was very quiet, overlooking trees and hills. The owners had specially selected the  room as we were staying a week and they wanted us to be comfortable.  We didn’t eat breakfast but it always looked nice. 

The walk in to Potes town for shops/restaurants is a very easy 10 minute  wander. Some people report it’s 20 minutes and uphill...not sure where they were staying!!

Family run,  a real gem of a place.

About 10 minutes easy walk to the edge of Potes, off street parking available..

Rooms are basic but fine, we were even offered a choice..

There is a café / bar but we did not try it.

Friendly people, nice hotel

Very friendly and helpful staff, can't do enough for you. We arrived after midnight due to delays and the staff had stayed up waiting for us with a meal prepared and ready to pour us a beer.
Room is basic, but clean. Shower was easy to use with hot water straight away.
Would stay here again.
