68 reviewsWe were in Lisbon and decided to spend a few nights near Pontevedra on our return to the ferry at Santander. This year we travelled by car - leaving our usual mode of transport, BMW R1100R motorcycle, at home. We looked up Hotels on TripAdvisor (room for the laptop in the car) and set the SatNav for the Tamanaco - such reviews cannot be ignored. We arrived there after an 8 hour drive, stopping for refreshments on the way, to a very warm welcome and a 2nd floor room with balcony and sea-view (none of these stand on a chair and lean out of the window jobs!), including a breakfast each, for a very good price. We parked the car, outside the front of the hotel, for free. We cannot comment on the thinness (or thickness) of the bedroom walls as there appeared to be only 3 couples staying. Breakfast was not a buffet but a served meal - orange juice, coffee, croissant (or toast), jam and yoghurt (2.5 Euros each). The room was quiet - double, double glazing - although some traffic noise came through but not enough to worry us. Free Wi-Fi, lift and free loan of an umbrella (although we had brought 2 with us) were nice extras. We went out for our evening meals and had a local map with hotels, cafes and restaurants marked - we even had recommendations from the hotel. We had a great 4 nights there and would recommend anyone wanting a quiet holiday by the sea, to go in June, before the crowds arrive and the prices go up.
